I wonder if JJJ would be available at the right price.

He's on an expiring contract looking for a huge raise. Not sure what Memphis is doing, but their season felt similar to Scottie's rookie year for the Raptors. Maybe they blow it up for the right price.

JJJ & Clarke for Barrett, Dick, 9th overall pick + future 1st

Quickley - Shead
Ingram - Walter
Barnes - Ogbaji
Jackson Jr. - Mogbo
Pöltl - Clarke

teams have JJJ circled as someone who might change teams next offseason. heat, clippers, Lakers (if lebron retires or leaves or does a cheap contract) are some of the teams who are scheduled to have cap space in 2026 summer.

his contract turned out to be cheap, and its decensing so any extension he can sign right now is not close to max, so he is going to reach free agency. (though grizzlies are trying to create cap space to raise then extend him this summer, see the marcus smart contract dump)

Absolutely zero chance we can get Naz. The reason the wolves traded Kat was because they had Naz coming up.

True, but what about NAW? Would love to bring him home.

I really don't like trading for JJJ when this team is already facing a potential cap crunch. Like on paper I see the fit but besides the rebounding concerns, he will be very expensive to retain.

Riley's quest to make the Heat even more unwatchable.

Sure if Miami decides they just want to treadmill...

But why are the Raptors up there?

Would this be a way to get out of IQ's contract in favor of a smaller and shorter contract length? Demar as a 6 man coming in as a microwave scorer to dominate opposing 2nd units could be interesting. I'm not opposed to it provided we get compensated with a future pick (Sacramento conveyed their FRP to Atlanta in this draft) for taking on Demar.

It would very clearly be bringing DeMar home for DeRJ. I think it saves us a bit of cash/gives us some leeway to re-signing Boucher without getting into the luxury tax. Trading IQ for DeMar would be asinine.

We have no cap space and as far as i'm aware, Minnesota can't even execute a sign and trade so NAW is not on the table for us.

Randle and Reid will be free agents this offseason... I'm assuming Reid will be playing somewhere else. He would be the perfect backup C but cannot see any path to get him sadly.

Gotta think Randle picks up his player option.

The answer to that question is: to make money for the betting company. No way Masai gets Derozan back.

"I'm not sure how much time I've got left but it would be very poetic to go out in a place where it all started from," DeRozan told Anne-Marie Mediwake on CTV's Your Morning.

Not saying i'd trade for DeMar to be our 6th Man this year but in 2026/27? Sure. But this year, let the young guys run the show and see what you have.

When OKC wins the title, they will have no need to go after expensive guys like Giannis, KD etc. They can just run it back.

HOU is probably the team that needs to big move and have the assets to do it. They probably add a big name in the summer.

Look at Boston, not easy to repeat.

Topic, Joe, Wiggins, Kenrich, Dieng for KD would be good.

I think adding another mouth to feed wouldn't be ideal for them. Plus, the face a huge salary crunch soon as SGA/JWill/Chet are all due for max or supermax deals within the next year or two. They could all sign deals totaling close to a billion.

Derozan would be the kind of move you make to fill out a roster after making another "big" move.

Can they front load still? 60-40-40-30?

Joe and Wiggins aren't shooting well in the playoffs and thus $20 million wasted which are better off replaced with cheaper draft picks.

Was thinking of an RJ Barrett for Derozan trade. Derozan is still the better player but age might be able to get a 2nd pick added?

Geez, RJ still is under 3 WS (2.4). I feel like 3 with starter minutes is an MLE player.

While we're looking at Sacramento, I see that Trey Lyles is a FA. Would he sign for the 2 year BAE?

That is an interesting deal from OKCs perspective. They clear out a bunch of players on contracts that are tying up money, or are coming up for renewal (Topic is the only cheap contract for the next few years). Don't even assume they resign Durant after the one year. Moving all of these contracts just clears space for them to resign IH & Cason, while maxing SGA, Chet & J-Dub.

And Suns rebuild their depth, provided they also get some picks from OKC in the deal.

Competition for Durant is the Rockets though, and what they would be willing to offer.

All the more reason why stars should probably want to move to the East, if they are asking for trades.

RJ for DeRozan makes sense as it frees up space under the tax this year and his contract is only partially guaranteed for next season so you can decline the guarantee and free up enough space under the tax to keep Jakob Poeltl and Ochai Agbaji on new contracts. Ideally by that point they have one of Ochai, Gradey, or Ja'Kobe ready to step into that starting shooting guard role, so losing DeRozan in 2026-2027 isn't a huge issue.

Any way you look at it they have to move someone to cut salary going forward, I think everyone here understands RJ is the most expendable high salary player on the roster right now and he'll get moved by the deadline at latest.

Giannis is smart to wanting to stay in East. He can roll to finals if he gets a real supporting cast

Return to Toronto Raptors
