Everyone keeps asking why does Lebron suck at closing in this series compared to his brilliance in the previous two series against Boston and Chicago. I think I have a logical hypothesis as to why he shrunk in the fourth quarter.
The key is Dirk. his ability to score consistently in key possessions of the fourth quarter put a lot of pressure on lebron because he feels he gotta match Dirk basket for basket. Clearly, none of the big three is as good a closer as Dirk who might be the toughest guard in the playoffs this year. Kobe can't match him, Durant can't match him, why should Lebron be able to? He was never recognized as a better closer than them.

But in those droughts, Chicago didn't make any shots outside of game 1. Chicago was one shooter short the whole series. They got the same shots Dallas did. Dallas just fought through it until they made shots--and then, toyed with Miami's d the rest of the way.

Lebron will always have a good TS%, as will Wade. They are layup and dunk specialists. That doesn't mean they SHOT WELL, it means they just take good shots. But the truth is, they can't shoot.

Ask yourself this question. How does a team of slowfooted veterans stay with the "super powers" otherwise?

That's because LeBron James and Dwyane Wade went hero mode taking long range jumpers hence the horrible stretches of offense at times during the Chicago series.

They're not amazing shooters, but they're capable shooters from 17-18 feet. What's important is, they both take smart/good shots that reward them with free throws. Isn't that the goal, taking SMART SHOT? LeBron shot 35% from long range during the playoffs, how's that for not being able to shoot?

Yeah that was a fabulous post-game presser by Carlisle.

Stern's worst nightmare.... everything that was learned from Magic/Bird saving the league was lost on him. Hopefully the lock-out settles once and for all the issue of a couple of players having too much control over the game.

I follow the Raps cause I'm from Toronto, and deep inside me I hope that one day this organization will finally realize the way a basetball team should be put together. I'm tired of these damn euros like Bargs and these (Please Use More Appropriate Word) GMs like BC. I just want a team to be put together properly. Not a 7ft shooting gurad that trolls its own city fans by saying he does more important things than rebounding. I mean ffs. If the guy said something like that in Boston or LA he'd be gone in an effin heartbeat, but this city treasures this fake jewel Bargsy like a fkcin baby.

Those guys can run. It's not like they're stiffs. Ilgauskas isn't suited for it, but he was productive in Cleveland and they ran every opportunity they got. Bibby and Miller were perfect as shooters who would give Lebron, Wade, and Bosh ample space and would knock down 3s in transition as well. Those guys are more than capable.

We thought Bibby and Miller would be able to knock down 3s in transition well, but didn't. LeBron James and Dwyane Wade practically create wide open looks for those two guys with their ability to dribble penetrate, but Miller and Bibby shot 30.6% and 25.8% from deep respectively during these playoffs which is very poor when you have tons of space. You'd at least expect them to shoot in the high thirty percentile with all that space. Miller and Bibby are simple living off their reputation from the past. With those percentages, it's crappy.

Thats a freakin cop-out. Mike Miller shot 48% from 3pt range last year with the Wiz. Mike Bibby shot 42% with the Hawks. They are more than capable 3-pt shooters. The Heat's failure liees solely on their ball-hog and kick offense,

I don't care how well those two shot last year. This year is this year. The fact that they couldn't do what they were supposed to do, knock down open jumpshots, shows that they were crappy.

I'm ecstatic for the Mavs.....Dirk, Kidd and company have earned and derserve a championship, you cant say thay about the super-friends. They only thing that hurts now is the fact the Chandler and Marion should both be Raptors.

What the hell were you watching? How many open jump shots did they actually get?? The Miami offense sucks. Put Miller and Bibby on other playoff teams and their 3-pt % would rise.

For LeBron it's all about "becoming better individually" not "becoming a better team".

Says a lot.

What the ****? How much more open do Miller and Bibby need to be? LeBron James and Dwyane Wade create some of the best three-point shots for their teammates, look at Mario Chalmers as an example during these playoffs. How come Chalmers was able to knock down his open shots at a near 40% clip?

Haha that is pretty funny. Man I remember when we used to be fans of Bosh saying he had so much passion and heart after he cried during that Bulls game when he found out we weren't making the playoffs.

The shots that Lebron hits from 3 are generally dribble, dribble, dribble and then shoot. Its rare to see him ever hit a spot-up jump shot because he is a lousy shooter. His game is built to be effective only if he dominates the ball. The Heat made the finals based solely on natural talent....they were not a good TEAM (defense yes, offense no).
