Not sure of #. I'm sure everyone misses rotations and I recall blaming Kleiza for that one dunk.

Lol at the refs for blatantly missing the call to give UKR a chance.

Kleiza takes the blame for not recognizing that Lav couldn't make it up the court. So yes partially his responsibility but again the fault of Lav. To be fair, he did get taken out for it.
I'll say it again though, I will never understand why JV has such a short leash on this team. Not only that but they freeze him out of offensive possessions. Not every time obviously, but a lot. The game didn't change at all with JV out. He got the hook when Lithuania was up 3, then it was an even to 3 point game for the next 5 minutes.

The whole team takes blame for sleeping today, Ukraine scored to easy, theyrs defence was almost enough to take this win.
Ill share my thoughts bout JV's leash. 1st hes nothing spectacular so far, not much better then other bigs. 2nd hes taking alot of damage during the game, those guys just keep hammering him, so coach trys to protect him i quess. 3rd Kazlauskas said before champ that this team's power will be bigs, so he keeps rotating them alot, so they are always fresh, and can exhaust other teams bigs.

Clementine9 wrote:I disagree. JV's been fantastic. Apart from a couple bad games- which he's absolutely entitled to have- he's been one of Lithuania's best players. I'm sure some stat guys can absolutely back that up, based on the limited stat analysis I've seen so far. The issue is you can't yank a player every 3-4 minutes (OR LESS!) or else he never gets in a groove and never gets a feel for the team he's playing against. He never even gets the chance to make a couple mistakes, often he makes one and he's done. Often those mistakes seem minor too. Not only that but the game is played with a certain tempo and energy level and when you bring a guy off the bench you have to let him take a minute or two to adjust to it. Luckily, Jonas is a player with a very high motor so he usually only plays with one up tempo gear anyways, but still the psychological effects of a short leash can really mess up a player's ability to get in the game.
Basically what I'm saying is 3 minute spurts is not long enough to determine how a player is going to play when he's as good as we all know Jonas is. Jonas could have a couple defensive lapses in 3 minutes (nothing significant) and get zero touches on offense and then block 3 shots and dominate offensively for the next 7.

The less minutes JV gets from here on in, the better for the Raps.
I'm glad he is practicing & staying in shape, but I don't want him burnt out.
