I can see Bam doing well. Kid is an athletic beast. He's starting to rise in my opinion.

I think Mike Schmitz tweeted a video of him nailing 3's. That's almost like adding Biz with a jumper

With few exceptions, I think most NBA players can hit 3s in practice. It's hitting them in games under pressure that's the difficult part. Though Biz probably couldn't. Form was too awkward.

That's exactly it....can they hit those in game contested or under pressure.

Of course it is welcome sign to see he has the shooting form and the ability to develop a sound jumper which should definitely help him because given his measurements he'll need it....he's a "C" that is actually the height and length of an average PF maybe even less (6'9 w/ 7'1 wingspan...Siakam is same height with 7'3 wingspan). But of course he's a far more explosive athlete and built like an absolute tank.

Bottomline is Bam is going to have to show some signs of versatility (ie/ extended shooting range, passing instincts and improved ballhandling) to make GMs think he has the upside of potentially being a monsterous PF, if not he is simply a mini-Howard that doesn't rebound the ball as well which is half of what Dwight a top player early in his career. Unless he is showing signs of all those things I mentioned I wouldn't draft him because right now he's a small C that isn't a great rebounder and while he may block shots he's not really a good defender.

That's not true at all. Consistently being able to hit a long range jumper shows skill. Most players might be able to hit them decently, but not consistently.

This is a freshman hustle big man showing a promising shooting touch. Biz couldn't even score on a chair in his workouts, but carved out a nice niche with us. If Bam could hit the mid range jumper with the occasional 3 that changes everything. Imagine Cleveland having to guard Biz last year.

I think this pick is getting traded. If we want to rid ourselves of JV, Carroll, or Cojo's contracts, we're going to have to throw in a 1st round pick.

Masai talked alot about internal development and scouting because new cba limit big moves. Highly doubt we trade both our 1st round picks

And he is expiring after next season. There is no need to dump the salary, it'll be coming off the books next offseason and it's a bargain contract right now.

Its a smart move to dump Cojo since Wright and FVV are cheaper and quite possibly better players. Also if we're going for a high octane offence next year, Cojo is the last guy you want running the point.

He's got a player option for 8 mil after next offseason.

Ya, and he'd be an idiot to take it.

I could see Canadian Justin Jackson doing well with his elite length and enormous hands to go with that frame. If he shows any sort of athleticism or quickness he could definitely open some eyes. His bbal IQ and shooting are already very good.

Anunoby wingspan is 7'2 not 7'6 looks like the hype went too far.

Iwundu has a 7'1 wingspan tho. Might be a good sleeper pick.

I agree with trading him but his contract is so friendly you don't need to add a pick to it. WE should be getting a pick back for him

Could have tanked the wingspan to make the vertical testing look better later. OG only has an average to slightly above average vertical from what I've seen so if his vertical comes in elite or close to you could see where that extra 4 inches went.

7'2 wingspan with elite vertical probably looks better to some than 7'6 wingspan with average vertical since 7'2 wingspan is still elite for a 3 anyway.

Yeah, I love Cojo but with Wright and FVV he's a luxury rather than necessity. If we can get a late 1st in this deep draft for him or even two 2nds you gotta take it. Lots of intriguing players in this draft.

Yeah, you must be young/new because anyone who has been following this thread or the draft for long enough knows this has been purported to happen at the combine. It's not something new. lol
