Phil Jackson's strange belief that the triangle offence will solve any team's woes, regardless of their makeup, is beyond explanation.

Tell me about it. I was going to take him but the guy just above me drafted him. So I took Vucevic. Needless to say, I'm enjoying my selection right now lol.

PJ didn't even create the triangle. His assistant did and he just ran with it. PJ didn't want to coach this team for a reason. It just isn't very good. He's amazing in terms of managing ego's but he's no Popovich. Pop can make something out of nothing, PJ can't.

I just dropped KCP for Bojan... I expected big things from KCP but he's been truly awful.

What happened to Drummond? Have defenses figured him out or is he missing easy shots/not getting touches?

He isn't mentally into the game and does lack skills which have been overlooked lack of any semblance of defense, extremely limited range 3 ft. much more foul prone than Jonas, still good rebounder but blocks down and obviously can't shoot free throw shots. He isn't mentally strong like Dwight but Dwight has a better BB IQ.
These were the reasons he slipped to Detroit that GMs worried about coming true.

It's still really early in the season. I can't help but look at Mason Plumlee though and then look at Drummond and think hm.. what's the major difference here?

Just a theory of mine, he's not responding well to Stan Van Gundy's style of coaching that's affecting him mentally. Drummond is such a fragile personality. He looked like this in college too playing with no self esteem. Mo Cheeks isn't a good coach by any means but he somehow brought out the best in Drummond.

Vintage Spurs. They live to win games in crunch time. I have no idea what it is with the Spurs and clutch free throws though. Manu and Tony always brick free throws.

Came here to discuss Drummond... He has looked brutal this far and stats back it up. Killing it in boards, but 45% from field and 35% from the stripe? Ouch.. Plus 4.2 fouls per game.

Phil Jackson's strange belief that the triangle offence will solve any team's woes, regardless of their makeup, is beyond explanation.
Phil explained prior to the season that they may lose quite a bit prior to figuring it out. Jose is a good fit in the triangle and the system totally relies on a capable all around big (you can understand why they covet Marc and his passing ability so much in the upcoming free agency). The triangle isn't the problem here, the team has been left a mess by past gms and the talent is rather lacklustre. Look across the talent on 30 teams, there are only two franchises I would dread to be a fan of - and that's LA and NY.
You can see flashes/spurts where the system pays dividends to cutters and movement, yielding completely wide open baskets. This mismatched roster just has a tough time adapting to it - particularly ISO dependent options such as melo and smith.
And what's beyond explanation is how a fan on a forum is criticizing arguably the greatest basketball mind of all time.
