Nnaji Marshall’s Shot looks much improved here really his only major weakness

Could be an upgrade for us to have another ball handling wing.
Marshall being 6'7 with 7' wingspan should able to play SG and back SF, which is something we lacked with our bench being too small. Kuzma was shooting over our guards, and we need another playmaker at the wing. Not sure he can be an upgrade over Powell, but his skillset maybe a better fit.

Nothing really jumps out. He looks decent at most things. As a senior, he could still improve FT shooting, but down on turnovers, shoot better from 3 (working on it on the clip) He may have to prove himself in the G-League first. He'd be a nice undrafted pickup. He might be better than Oshae Brissett. Would he beat out Paul Watson for a roster spot, not sure?

https://www.thestepien.com/2020/01/24/case-naji-marshall/

Maybe at #58, but would you take him over Malik Fitts? I guess if the scouts see his defense as being his calling card, then might be worth it. Also imagine drafting at #28 Zeke Nnaji and at #58 Naji Marshall.

Watson is slightly below average wingspan for SG at 6'7 (6'8.5 for starting SG), while Marshall can play SF with his size and slightly below average 7' wingspan (7'1 for starting SF).

As for Marshall, I don't see him being defensive enough being a lock down, but his point forward skill with good vision seem to help settle the flow, could be a good replacement of McCaw due to his size and length.

I would not be surprised if teams pick him earlier, and I would not mind pick him at 28 for a backup SF, rather than being too undersize for our bench group.

I definitely like Marshall he'd be great undrafted but if they wanted make sure they got him 58th is fine

No way I take him over Reed at #28. They both need to work on their 3.

RHJ does not look good out there. Maybe it was the mild sprain of the ankle. Still, I'd like a taller replacement.

Nate Darling is staying in the draft. :reporter:

Matt Thomas 2.0 that needs to play in Europe and pay his dues and improve his defense?

He could be Tyler Herro 2.0? Herro is lucky to go to Kentucky and get exposure and will be earning at least $20 million for being a poor defense chucker.

I guess he'll probably be Carl English 2.0. :(

Still have:

Karim Mane
Mamadi Diakite
Paul Eboua
Lamine Diane
Malik Fitts
Naji Marshall
Markus Howard
Jay Scrubb
Killian Tillie

Pretty sure a couple of them will make it to #58.

Hey, Petrusev has left Gonzaga to play in Europe. Can the Raptors draft him at #58?

Yeah it's not even like I was fully commited to these guys but it was good to know that it was deeper in the back end of the draft allowing for some guys to go under the radar

Is Paul Reed like Paul Milsap but more wiry?
Tillman a taller Draymond?

Which player would you take?

I'd take the taller Draymond since that's a HOF player lol

Of course, I don't think either of these comparisons really applies. Milsap had more offensive skill and Draymond could move a lot better on the perimeter than Tillman can (also longer)

I'd say it's more of a Kirilenko versus Horford scenario. Obviously those are the ceilings for these guys, but it's just to give an idea of their styles of play.

Agreed. I have used those comps before so thought I'd come up with 2 more.

Tillman may be the better passer but I think Reed would be more versatile. Either way, both would help with rebounding.

I am almost at the end of this process, looking at about enough film of prospects and watching current state Raptors to see what player would fit. My pick is the guy I knew would make sense at the beginning of process: Devon Dotson

Toronto is essentially built on defensive activity feeding transition scoring -- which is exactly what this player does well.

His speed is really translatable to the NBA considering how well he can finish at the rim with either hand and create even without screen usage. Ranked 1st in his conference in transition scoring (4.9 ppg); At the rim scoring is almost like a big at 64.1%.

His defense is aided by his speed which allows him to jump into passing lanes (3.6 steal%) but he can defend on-ball 0.44 points per isolation possession [88th percentile].

Despite being a scorer he knows how to run a team and is a 5 star recruit and an All-American.

Basically the guy is the controlled chaos Toronto needs off the bench.

This might be one of the more important drafts for our team even though we only pick at 28 and 58.

1) 3/8 of our rotation are free agents so we'll have potential holes to fill.

2) We need to add cheap young talent to augment the roster without compromising cap space.

3) We need young talent we can use in trade or to make others expendable heading in 2021 free agency.

4) The draft is pretty deep and the separation in talent from the teens to pick 28 is not large.

5) Because of Covid there is an information gap in scouting that will favor the most prepared and best scouting teams.
