This thread is a bit of a pendulum, a few wins and one side comes out. A few losses and the side is back on track. Regardless of what side you're on its quite entertaining.

lmao this team is going to be "medicore" compared to our championship run for years, maybe even decades. We got spoiled one season and now everyone wants a title every year. Fat chance of that happening any time soon when our superstar (for whom the roster was ideally constructed) skipped town. Tank, no tank- this team will be at best a playoff team for years. Some of us would just rather experience any semblance of the playoffs/winning than none at all, especially in a year where there's **** all to do cause were at home all the time.
You happy with just making playoffs. Im not exactly excited with just making playoffs.
Like I said above. You need to start living with reality. 2019 was an anomaly not the rule. We're not winning a title again for a while.

It's been on one side of the pendulum for the last 7 years despite many calling for a tank every year.
Eventually they will have their day.

So you guys admit you don't care about winning a chip. All you want is your pretty little record. Play a series or two. So you can stop arguing we are not the same. You settled. I refuse to

Yeah true, it's not as exciting as missing the playoffs. We should hope for the team to miss the playoffs instead and get stuck as a perpetual bottom feeder for many years to come because that's a proven formula which has shown to have a high success rate.

Thats good to have high expectations for your team but you would have absolutely hated the dark days, the pre Masai Raptors were not fun to watch. I'm not sure if you were a fan during those days but experiencing that makes you more appreciative of the 7 straight years (and counting) of this team making the playoffs. When you experienced the Babcock-Colangelo days you dont take "just making the playoffs" for granted, some fans are cool with just making the playoffs and winning a round or two.

I'm on the rebuild side, but I can see the other sides perspective as well. There is no perfect way to building a championship team, plus watching a team win is entertaining like last nights game. It's not really championship or bust for everyone.

So I guess you didn't celebrate the Raptors winning their only title because it wasn't built the way you think it should be built?

It's not about settling, it's about being being realistic, like rocky said the championship was an anomaly not the norm. Take the wins when they come because when the losses start coming and they'll start piling up and you'll be wishing for this thing you call "mediocrity". That high draft pick doesn't guarantee a superstar, that high draft pick doesn't guarantee a title, that high draft pick doesn't guarantee success.

If they tanked and got franchise level would you be pissed?

I became tWo literally last month. Before that I would have been considered “team positive”. Go back to any season prediction thread and I’m always the guy saying we’ll go far and that we’ll win 50 something games.
In fact a lot of guys that are tWo order are guys that want the team to win.
I know, I was specifically talking about Steelo Green, Pooh Jeter, johanalbert, and a couple of other guys I forgot their usernames. Nobody is telling you how to be a fan of this team but you can't blame some of the posters on here for getting tired of the same negative stuff tWo posts in the post game threads after every win, it's become trolling at this point.
Yup. Those are the same guys who told us that the Nets would knock us out of the first round last year. It's ridiculous. And they're the loudest voices advocating for the tear down of the team. You can add DonDoolie, Dunkaroo, and beatdatazz to the list. One of those guys has gone so far as to call Kyle Lowry a "pig".
Nothing this franchise does will be good enough for them. They're not here in good faith. They're here to argue, be contrarians, and irritate the fanbase.

It's pretty clear this team is flawed and needs a rebuild/retool. That doesn't happen through tanking though. Too many players with championships under their belts and getting rid of all of them doesn't accomplish anything either. Need to keep developing who we have, acquiring players when they become available, and show we are a perennial playoff team.
After acquiring Duncan, Spurs didn't tank once yet were able to remain competitive, compete for championships, go through cycles of grooming young players, all the while sustaining their championship DNA as a franchise. This is the team we need to be modelling ourselves after. One from a small market no one cared about but while Pop was there and the team was competitive, wanted to play for.

Literally no one on this board thinks were are contenders. Find me someone who thinks we can get passed the first or second round as currently constructed. We know we're flawed we'd just rather be a flawed team that is a few pieces away, than team at the bottom of the barrel that sucks entirely.
