He's not better than Demar, come on man. Don't screw up summer league with the real thing.

Sorry, I meant I think he will be better than Demar, not currently better. Mostly because of his ability to handle the ball better, also looks a lot smoother and more natural handling the ball, which I like in a SG.
Props to TZ for the sig:

He's a PG not a SG

He should be better at handling the ball considering he's a 6'6 PG not an SG. He really needs to work on his shooting percentage though but he's a very interesting prospect.

Really hope Julyan Stone is on the team. Tall PGs are always fun to watch.

Olynyk does play like Luis Scola with all those hand-offs, weave screens and button-hook cuts to seal his defender. Moves like him too.

I don't really see Siva playing much in the NBA. He has a nice quick release to counter against longer defenders closing out, but has a lot trouble actually making shots.

Olynyk has been fun to watch so far this summer league, the kid can play. I'm just concerned about him being matched up against bigger NBA bodies and how that limits him offensively.

Yeah I agree, he has played well. But I think he will be more limited defensively rather offensively. I think he will be able to score in the NBA.

It's almost sad that the Mavs didn't keep him. Dirk would have been the perfect guy to learn from to expand his game, he definitely has skill.

Oh yeah for sure, he's never been projected to be much of a factor on defense. I'm just concerned that his play in the post will lose its effectiveness against bigger NBA bodies.

I kinda dislike that Raptors are sending JV to summer league. What for? He would improve much more if he started training camp with Lithuanian National team on time imho.
What JV can get at summer league? There won't be many good (if any at all?) good rivals. All teams (Raptors included) will be full of chuckers who will have a single goal: to show off what they are capable off.
And there is not enough time to make many setups and various combinations. And JV as a center, won't even see the ball often. Not expecting him to shoot more than 10-12 times a game because simply he will be getting the ball as much as in main Raptors teams (in other words - rarely). So how this will beneficial for him I still cant see

Yeah, he's been impressing me. You're right it would've really benefited him with Dirk giving him tips how to score in the post with those fakes and counters since he already has some sound footwork. He's not the most athletic guy with the hops, but the way he moves on the floor for a player his size he's very coordinated. I like how fluid he is and not stiff/rigid like most 7-footers. Guys like Ryan Anderson and Andrea Bargnani run the floor awkwardly lol.

I think it will be a good opportunity to improve his post game and develop other weak areas of his game as long as he gets the touches. If he plays for the Lithuanian National team they will be playing to his strengths and he won't exactly be learning/trying anything new.

Yeah, I think depends on what they have him do. If he's to focus on particular things then that's great. Give me the post game. And he'd be facing a higher level of athleticism here than overseas, a point of weakness. I would typically agree with bigs being ignored in SL but the kid is our potential franchise guy so we'll see who is stupid enough to ignore him.

Tony Mitchell looks good today. Would like to swipe him.

I'm kind of liking this camera angle. You get a better sense of how big these guys are. Kravtsov (sp?) is a monster.
