Anything over $9M per is an overpayment that we will regret.

Exactly, we've been lobbying hard for a while now. Masai was very clear that Lowry was our man.

I'd bet he got 12 million per year. I just hope he doesn't return to his mouthy, fat, somewhat injury prone pre-contract year form.

Only real chance of winning a championship

The equivalent of KD is basically any team's only real chance of winning a championship. Unless you're the Spurs I guess, and even they probably only have one more year of Duncan and Pop.

It sounded like it was more of his opinion than anything. He even added in the "I'd be shocked if it didn't happen" line. Giving himself an out if it doesn't go down. We've heard this type of "it's a done deal" before in Toronto just to have something turn out the complete opposite.

My guess would be 4 years @ $44 million with the fourth year being a player option.

I'm sure it helps that the players respect and can relate to Masai.
Unlike his slimy used-car-salesman predecessor.

Everything to this point has basically pointed this being as close to a done deal as you get in unrestricted free agency.

hope it's not too much more than 4/48, but end of the day if it is pricy, we still have him back and I love him on this team.

The only dreaded question... what will it cost :/

But I'm happy that we are re-taining talent from last year and that we will be only better if we can lock up PPat and GV. I'd easily take:

Lowry/GV
DD/Lou
Ross/??/Copalco
Amir/PPat
Val/??/Nougeira

over
Lowry/GV
DD/Fields
Ross/Salmons
Amir/PPatt/Hansbrough
Val/Hayes

Only Improving :)
