"regular season" player...

He's also 31 years old...

A Max contract "could" cripple the franchise going forward...

As fans we don't know what else is out there but the team seriously needs to look at all possible options

I don't expect Lowry to get the super max, I fully expect him to sign a deal similar or slightly above Demar's. Either way if we plan on keeping Ibaka and Tucker roster changes are inevitable. Might as well retain our star point guard.

As for him being a regular season player. He has scored multiple 30 point games in the playoffs. WhileVAL was crucial for us vs the Pacers, I would argue Lowry was the main reason we won vs Miami.

Ok with all that experience u mentioned why is he getting pwned by a 24 year old 2nd round pick rookie and delladova?

I'm talking about in previous years. People blamed his piss-poor performance last year on his elbow. And injury was also blamed for his performance against the Wizards the year before. Maybe the guy just **** chokes and can't perform under pressure.

Lowry carried the team against the Heat and was magnificent against Cleveland. He's arguably the best point guard in the league.

They both have really bad fg% in playoffs. DD is just marginally better than Lowry. Both of them are mental midgets.

I disagree. DeRozan plays exactly the same way in the playoffs as the regular season, he just has to force the issue way more because Lowry isn't doing anything.

Lowry legitimately does not look like the same player at all. He got absolutely taught a lesson by John Wall two years ago and George Hill last year. This year he's being outplayed by a rookie that isn't even really a true point guard and having no impact on the game.
facts!!! Are people forgetting demar was the reason we weren't down by 20 in the first quarter ? Only demar and serge showed up in that first quarter.

Honestly, Patterson's RPM even makes him a more valuable player then Westbrook. Wouldn't trade him for Russ straight up even if OKC offered.

If the Thunder called and offered Westbrook for Bruno I'd hang up the phone and block their number

If Lowry leads us to Championship, we have to re-sign him.

Anything less than that, let him walk.

No but there is time it takes to get use to having 2 completely new players on a team and the rest of the team who had to adjust to playing without you.

That has no bearing on him sinking a shot now does it. A shot is a shot , it doesn't matter who passed it to you when you have a wide open three.

I think for team cohesion we would probably play a bit better with Corey and Wright only because the ball hummed a lot more.

You can tell Lowry was forcing passes trying to facilitate though.

Regardless all of our players need to hit some damn shats!!

We got no FRICKIN SHOOTERS on this damn team! we've all known that for the longest frickin time. Casey's choice! Carroll and Patterson never hit them consistently enough. Powell isn't on the floor! Casey thinks the 2 scorers we got are enough! it's gonna be another frickin fugly playoff

You know Lowry is in his typically play off zone when he try's his typical tunnel vision lay ups over the biggest players on the other team. This guy get his shot blocked in the playoffs more than any other point in the season. He has no confidence in his shot and will try to drive over the biggest players on the other team. Once you see this just know you're in for a long night from him.

If you think being confortable with the team doesn't have a effect on how you game is overall than you haven't played team sports on a level outside of school. It can make a huge different on the game. if he is forcing his shots because he can't find an open man because they aren't in the spots he expects. or if he gets a pass he normally wouldn't get one, ect

Not everything is so cut and dry.

We should sell high on Demar

Post#240 » by LonZoBallin » Sun Apr 16, 2017 2:35 pm

We missed the boat with JV. The signs were all there he is what he is. Playing better with Biz was a huge wake up call to me that we should trade JV last draft. We didn't and now I don't know how much we can get for him if anything good at all. Even worse, Poeltl is taking is job next year so we are in a position now of selling low with no choice but to trade JV before Poeltl takes his job.

Same goes for Lowry. Coming off a career year last year, I feel MU should have explored last draft, off-season and even throughout the season this year. 1 great year out of 12, injury past, poor playoff performance, 200 million due but most important, 31 years old and a PG. So many ?'s for a guy about to get 200 million. PG's game always fall off after 30. Now we're in a lose lose situation. Sign him to 200 million or let him walk for nothing.

Don't miss the boat on Demar. 4 years left, all-nba type season. I'll go on record and saying, this will be his best year in his whole career(sell high) you can get a rebuild package for demar if you sell now. If you wait, you'll get bad contracts and late picks. Especially if lowry leaves bc we will start losing and Demar will turn into a chucker on a bad team. No one will touch him.

MU has an out because of the Leafs. They're in the spotlight now. But more importantly they got there through rebuild. You trade Demar at the draft for a top 10 pick, prospect and future 1st and it prepares the fanbase for lowry and ibakas exit.

Start the process before you're stuck in no mans land.
