For 1 1/2 years of Kawhi and Davis and Lowry! Every single thing should be on the table.

Siakim, JV, Fred , OG and multiple firsts and also take on any dead weight contract they want to dump.

No tampering here, right... this league’s rules are a complete joke.

So what's a Boston AD team look like? Would that means Kyrie sticks around>?

The bigger question is would Boston want to give up their assets now? Especially now that they know Davis wants to be in LA.

We might be the only team ok with him wanting LA as having him would convince Kawhi to be here at least another year.

AD (like Kawhi) may prefer a move to the Lakers, but the players don't control the situation. New Orleans will decide his fate, at least until he's a FA. Many teams can beat a Laker offer and I'd be surprised if New Orleans trades AD to his preferred destination. I think AD gets traded to a mystery team or NO's waits until the offseason and deals him to BOS.

if masai believes that boston will be acquiring AD in the summer, then he needs to go all in this year.

Boston will be running the east with AD for the next few years.

Yep either to Boston in the off-season or to some random team if Dell Demps is not already on the hot seat this season.

the laker assets aren't even that impressive. new orleans should just wait for boston.

Or send him to the raps for everything we got.

Really come on a team with Siakim, Jrue, OG, Fred, and multiple picks would be really fun and competitive plus they can sell mirotic and randall for additional picks.

The issue for Boston is, if they give up Brown and/or Tatum plus picks in the summer that team will just be AD and Horford and Rozier, Smart thats not a dominant team in the east. If AD leaves after that Boston has lost everything including future picks. If AD said he really wanted to be in Boston that would be a different story, and he probably would have waited till the summer to talk about wanting to be out of NO. This means he doesn’t see Boston as a fav destination. This means i doubt Boston would gut their team for someome who would leave in a year.

Yep. This has to **** stop. I’m so done with this league if they look the other way again. For one thing they should be threatening rich Paul with decertification.

I preface my comment by saying that this relies on a big "IF".

"IF" the Pelicans see value in Serge Ibaka - who has been playing at sub-All Star level, 2way player, is under contract for another year and is "not old"... then the Raps can give the Pelicans a very competitive offer. Perhaps without even touching Siakam.

Serge + Norm + OG + Wright + Pick(s)
FOR
Davis + whatever bad contract(s) the Pels want to offload (we can include CJ if it means taking on more Pelicans contract baggage)

C - AD
PF - Siakam
SF - Kawhi
SG - Green
PG - Lowry
Bench - FVV, JV, Bouchard + 'Pelicans baggage' + 905'ers

JV + FVV + OG + whatever picks we have available to trade

or

JV + FVV + Pascal + whatever picks we have available to trade

Lowry
Green
Leonard
Davis
Ibaka

is a drool-worthy starting lineup

OR

if we can somehow retain Pascal, we bring Ibaka in off the bench and start AD at Center:

Lowry
Green
Leonard
Siakam
Davis

THIS lineup can make noise against the Warriors in a 7-game series.

Obviously everything is on the table for us except Kawhi and Lowry.

NO would be smart to wait until the offseason and take Bostons offer though.

Yeah, Siakam is a must in a deal for AD.

mademan wrote:I think waiting till near the trade deadline is to try and force the Pel's hands into accepting a deal from LA. They could just wait until the offseason, but I guess Paul and AD are betting on the Pel's not wanting this to be a sideshow for 6 months.

They forced the Pelicans hand by announcing it now, 10 days before the trade deadline. They knew what they were doing, the situation was bleak months prior with the Pelicans going nowhere. It's either they get whatever they can by the deadline, or they face even more media scrutiny; with the situation becoming an entire circus from now until the offseason. Which is a lot of time for that to wear on a team, and a franchise.

I love how this comes out just before the All Star game.

Rich Paul is going to have face to face contact with all of the decision makers for every team.

I would just love to hear, real time, what some of these closed door discussions are like... I wonder what tact Masai uses when trying to figure out if AD would even consider resigning with Raptors if he made the swing for AD....

The problen for Boston is now they now Davis prefers LA. Its pretty obvious to everyone. So what are they really willing to give up for a player who may leave to play with Bron in a year.

The real question is which teams would trade for a player who would leave in a year in a half. I think Toronto is on the top of that list of those teams who would be willing to give up good assets for a rental.

Which young players do we think will be offered up in a deal for AD that are better / more valuable than Siakam? Lets make a list. I guarantee the list will be short.
