Nope we will have the space outright no trade needed

How? We'll presumably be signing Fred and Ibaka/Gasol this offseason. Is it because Lowry is coming off the books during Giannis FA year?

Embiid realistic at all? if he demands a trade from that mess Elton Brand made...we'd have to give up Siakam + picks, wouldn't we?

Yeah Lowry's max expires, Norm probably opts out. Dont expect either Serge/Marc on the books.

Should leave Fred with 20-25M and 30% left over for one max player before paying OG

Stanley Johnson needs to opt in by Oct 11. I wonder if the Raps can waive him before the start of the next NBA financial year and have his option year salary count for the 19-20 season instead of 20-21.

I'm thinking the cap for 20-21 will end up being around 17-18 levels with a cap of 99M and luxury tax line of 119M and an MLE of 8.4M

1. waive Stanley Johnson
2. draft Tillman and a PG in 2nd round
3. with salary cap of 99M, pascal's 1st year salary is 24.75M
4. sign Fred to 3Y/71M (22M 1st year with 8% raises) at 12:01 of free agency, allows him to bet on himself again with some security
5. sign Marc to 1Y/10M, must be greater than the MLE so other contenders do not poach him
6. sign Brissett and Watson to minimum level contracts with team option
7. sign Tillman to rookie scale and 2nd rounder to 2way

This already takes us to 117M which is just below my estimate of the luxury tax line with 13 roster spots and a 2-way contract.

I would like to see a play for a 1 year MLE contract for a ring chasing Paul Millsap which would take us right up to the tax apron and hard cap the team. Boucher could be a cheaper alternative if Millsap doesn't work out.

Millsap/Gasol/Tillman
Pascal/Brisett/Dewan
OG/McCaw/Watson
Kyle/Norm/Thomas
Fred/TD2/2nd rounder

I wonder what it would take to get Wendell Carter in a trade ?

That guy could be our center if the future, already good defensively and has some shooting/passing upside

We would have to sell low considering his value has plummeted recently.Besides he has already said he wants to play the 4 and complained to reporters about it. People on our board thinks he was throwing shade to Lauri.

I can realistically see AK holding a fire sale this summer. Most NBA front office changes from recent memory is usually followed by a roster overhaul.

Edit:Grammar
AKME? More like MEAK with how they're afraid to make a move to push us in one direction.

Yeah, I can see that too, although id expect Zach or Lauri to be the main trade bait pieces.

Also don't like this trend with all these bigs refusing to play C, AD, Ayton, Horford, etc

It probably wouldn't make sense to move WCJ till next year at least, when his extension stuff comes up

Watson gets a contract but Brissett only deserves another 2-way contract.

Bill Simmons and Russillo do a deep dive on the Raptors' roster and options for the future depending on how the series goes. No real predictions, especially with Hayward out and Lowry's injury.

Relevant stuff starts a bit around the 57 minute mark.

Any chance we can get Simmons or Embiid from Philly?

There's a fine line between clever and stupid caring about their opinion and at least being interested to hear what they have to say. It's so unusual to hear US commentators talking about specific Raptors beyond Pascal and Lowry. To hear these guys wax eloquent about Serge, Adobe, Fred and Norm was cool.

Mitchell Robinson on the knicks would be interesting, if their new management aren't sold on him.
Terrance Davis and a protected 1st?

Not giving up either of those 2. They’re potential core cogs of our future. I’d rather just draft and develop a Centre of our own, especially with our development track record

Sign and trade Ibaka, Stanley, McCaw and cash for Mitchell Robinson, Wayne Ellington and Bobby Portis (team option to be declined).

Would Ibaka like to make coin in the Big Apple? Seems a cool enough city for him?

PG Lowry - FVV - TD
SG FVV - Powell - Thomas
SF OG - Ellington - Watson
PF Siakam - Boucher - #29
C Marc - Robinson - Boucher
