Dylan Harper's shooting and defense are suspect right now. 68.6% FT shooter over past 400 something days. 32% from downtown.
He has a lot to prove at Rutgers.

Plays a little too upright and the shot needs A LOT of work (as does his shot selection), but this kid moves like an NBA player and he seems to have good size and a solid motor.

Probably my least favorite of the guys at the top of the class, personally.

The top's loaded, I'm not sure the goal is 7th+ though. I don't think it extends that far, it's top heavy.

Re: 2025 NBA DRAFT PROSPECTS
Alabama is my early favorite to win 2025 NCAA championship
They have a very deep roster filled with starters who will be 22-23 during tournament time.
Not sold on UConn, Hurley is amazing and they'll outperform actual talent but roster is incredibly devoid of talent this year. Samson Johnson and Hassan Diarra are not winning you a title this year. They probably die at sweet sixteen or elite eight latest.
Duke probably #2 right now for me followed by Iowa State #3 in terms of who I think has it in them to win it all.

Re: 2025 NBA DRAFT PROSPECTS
An above average draft year is about seven franchise players deep. Most drafts are about three franchise players deep.
This one gets weak after the top three.

Illinois just lost 3 starting seniors to professional basketball and one transferred - Shannon Jr, Domask, Guerrier and Hawkins. The returning starter among them is a guard who doesn't shoot 3 pointers and shoots 50% from the FT line who will be accompanied by Kylan Boswell who also can't score for ****. Jakucionis could have a big year but it's nowhere near enough to get them on a big tournament run.
They're not winning anything.

It definitely is deep but at least early, it does look like the guys in the top 5 (Flagg, Ace, VJ, Maluach, Nolan - while I still really like him, I'm not quite as high on NT as some but I'll put him in here bc he'd still be great) or so do have a slightly higher ceiling but there should almost certainly be a player or two that's going to end up being great too. I think it has a chance to rival Luka, SGA & Trae's draft...I'm not sure if anyone is quite Luka level (even Flagg) but I could see a player or two reaching SGA's which is obv incredible.
I'm just praying we can stay in the top 7 or so then I'd be incredibly confident that we walk out with at minimum a core level players (I personally don't consider Dick, JaKobe, RJ to be that level...even IQ is a bit iffy) but if we're 10-13ish as I'm fearing, then sure I'm still confident we get a good player but I still think there's levels within this draft. I just like our odds WAY better by eliminating just "hoping" someone falls through to us that's still at that potential superstar level players. Of course I'll still be pretty happy with players like Pate, Knox, Powell etc but I'm not as confident those guys will be stars as I am my current projected top 5 (not a huge Harper guy either).

We need MVP talent level. You don't find that late in the draft often. It's basically a top three thing. Unless you get insanely lucky.

Jakucionis is nice and Will Riely is gonna get buckets, Trey white is solid &, kasparis is gonna score too. They have 9 new comers, they're gonna be nice.

I personally do think it extends into the 7 range. But it all depends on how you value the other prospects. For example, I like guys like Demin, Tre Johnson, and Hugo Gonzalez. But obviously, this is very early and things could change entirely.

Re: 2025 NBA DRAFT PROSPECTS
This draft is more than just top heavy people just don't understand yet. Kon Knueppel is legit but all these filthy casuals don't even have him on their 2025 boards.
There are guys like Kalkbrenner who might get drafted god knows where who at least will be a high tier rotation player almost guaranteed as long as he doesn't regress without Scheierman and Alexander.
There are tons of really good players I see all over the place and then just a bountiful amount of talented freshmen.

I don’t think any draft gives 7 “franchise” players. There’s only 30 NBA teams, and your math doesn’t check out.
Maybe your definition of franchise player is different than the rest of us.
If you can get more than 3 franchise players (eg Lebron, Wade, Melo) that’s an All Time great draft…96 draft is another one.
