Most on this board wanted Bruce and Kelly to be traded. He did that. Let's see how things go with him next to Scottie. We have a lot of young talent and depth when healthy. Adding a guy like Ingram doesn't hurt.

Just 2 weeks ago the same people were saying Brown likely gets bought out and KO was washed

Siakam for Ingram, Ochai and Walter is is a great re-tool result.

And we ALL still want the tank to continue to add a good pick to BI and a healthy IQ for next year

Look. Masai never wanted picks for Pascal. He wanted a bunch of their bench players to treadmill. The Pacers wouldn't oblige. We just got lucky that the one good pick was the return forced on him. But he made sure to fix that.

The only thing this FO is actually great at is drafting, and they hate doing it.

Consistent failure in the one approach they keep taking, and they don't learn. Can't laugh at the Kings anymore. We're the more competent, but no less delusional franchise.

Very strange indeed. Some folks here kept preaching patience because it's supposed to be year 1 of rebuild and then they go and get this guy who's all over the place. Not quite good enough to be an all-in move, certainly not the kind of player a rebuilding team should be going after, too injury prone to be able to properly assess future impact with any kind of certainty, and probably looking for too much money with real chance to walk. Just the kind of guy Masai Ujiri likes to overpay to keep. Didn't quite give up too much but did give up a first round pick, which would be doubly bad if this guy turns out to be a rental or worse if overpaid AND injured (like always). There's also some redundancy with Quickley and Barrett on the team with not enough time to resolve in the short-term as trade was too last-minute.

Just a really weird move overall with low chance of working out. If you want to take that gamble, I think the team would have to be in more advanced stages of rebuild. Not as bad but similar to Poeltl, wrong move at the wrong time IMHO.

Half the people haven't seen this series, you can tell, otherwise no one would be making these silly comments. Ingram got murdered by Dort in the playoffs.

You're wrong. I was totally fine with the Poeltl trade. I wanted to see that team get a chance. I'm not fine with this.

I like the fit of Ingram if you can get him in the 30s. I don't like giving up a first and I don't like that RJ is still here.

The key is that Raptors should still tank this season, that's what would make the Ingram trade actually work.....hope for a jump into the top 4 and that's when things get interesting.

I doubt Raptors FO has any interest in making a play-in run this season, it would be pointless.

And you guys are delusional if you think this team plans to rest him this season to preserve the tank.

He's as injury prone as OG,

He's also less valuable than OG and is the same age. At that point, we might as well have just held onto OG.

I think he's gotta go this summer, now. I don't think there's enough shooting or D if he starts with Ingram, and if he goes to the bench it might nuke his value even if he plays well enough for 25 minutes a night.

Poeltl 28 - Maluach 16 - Barnes 4
Barnes 30 - Ingram 18
Ingram 14 - Barret 26 - Agbaji 8
Agbaji 18 - Dick 20 - Walter 10
Quickley 32 - Shead 16

would be my guess at our normal rotation next year if we don't move RJ this summer.
Where's the D?

It's sad watching the slow death of message boards in real time. Reddit is the worst place for discussing anything.

30 games remaining.

IQ, Poelt, RJ, and Ingram all out with injuries.

The tank is still on.

It's stronger if anything because Boucher and Brown were actually contributing to wins right now.

I'm not happy with the way the roster is currently constructed.

Atleast tanking gives you a path to finding the next best thing like we did with Scottie.

All this does is put us back to the middle of the pack.

It's not like this will be our roster forever. It will always be changing. We are still a few years away from our hopefully final, best version

So Siakam became:

Ochai / JaKobe / Ingram / and then space to get Davion / Shead

Assuming we retain Ingram, I wonder if it is still "a bad deal"

Ingram is probably as close a comparison to Siakam as you can get but plays a position we need and can also be a better go to scorer. The biggest issue with him is injuries. They did amazing with the value they got back for Siakam. He instantly becomes the team’s second best player and you have Quickley and RJ sharing 3/4th options. This team is pretty stacked in a very weak East that has only top heavy teams.
