Booker and Beal didn't work out. Well hey they tried it right?

This Booker/Green thing looks promising, and distinctly different. I'm sure that will work.

Real question is, can they get a Jordan Poole to go along with it? Maybe Simons? What would that cost them? They should look to pull the trigger on something like that.

Edit: Maybe CJ Mcollum too?

There's so few teams that are even possibilities in a trade. Basically it's the Bucks or Heat, I can't see anywhere else he would be willing to go. Even with someone like Lillard, they would still need to add draft capital to move Beal for him.

Yep very sim situations and trades....50+ Win team that needs a superstar to put them over the hump, Traded minimal assets to get that star....And have more assets to make follow up moves to help win more ....(Kawhi/Gasol) All while still having depth....

I think they go for Giannis and if Bucks don't trade him they go get Brown level type of player since they can outbid alot of teams.

To be fair, Demar was hell of a lot more accomplished than Green even if they have similar profiles longterm.

There's maybe the faintest parallel between the KD and Kawhi trades i.e. trading for a disgruntled star for pennies on the dollar for what they should cost...if you ignore Durant's age, him not being the best defender, this Rockets squad having one good season as opposed to the Raptors several 50+ win seasons and that Jalen Green is a fraction as good as DeMar was at his peak - dude was All-NBA while Green hasn't even made an All-Star game.

The only difference is that Kawhi was ten years younger than KD.

They can trade for another superstar if necessary. No brainer.

That's what's crazy...they still have the potential to trade for Giannis should the Bucks change their tone during an almost guaranteed depressing season ahead.

It's gonna depend on the chemistry between sengun and KD. They only have 2, MAYBE 3 cracks with KD. So they can't afford to wait. If their chemistry is not right.....you cash everything in for giannis. Sengun, suns picks, two more picks, maybe Eason and Smith too.

It still leaves them strong even after KD is done. They won't be completely drained of their future picks. But it would be the ultimate cash in move.

Trying to think of when KD ever played with a forward like Sengun. I guess draymond is the best example. Point forward type distributing from the elbows of the paint.

I don't think the Celtics want to trade Brown.

Ofc but skill wise Kawhi is not worlds away from KD....You put a good team around even a 37 year old KD it gives them a 2 year window to compete....Its not like KD is just going to forget how to play basketball over the next 2 years....Rockets are a great defensive team so all KD has to focus on is being the number 1 scoring option...Rockets are kinda built perfect for KD skill set...

I watched alot of rocket games and it's not that crazy of an opinion at all. There are multiple games where he DOES look like a future star scoring 30 or more points. Unlike a certain raptor player named Scott.

The problem with Green is that he'll score 34 then 14 then 30 then 8.

He definitely has a more star-like quality or shows more star-like glimpses than our prospects. Supremely talented with the ball and attacking the basket. Plus he's proven to be a humble young player that takes guidance from great vets like Fred vanvleet. He's not spoiled and doesn't have a sense of entitlement.

its both more and less than what i thought he would return

more than what i thought his trade value would be before all the rumors started
less value than parsing through the reports of the past two weeks

Great situation to be in for Houston. Roster flexibility and lots of future firsts are still valuable.
