No. You get the ball quickly to the lead runner. Then either he can make it to the hoop, but if the defender closes on him, then he dumps it back to the trailing free man. It’s a pretty standard chess move.
Plus, in this case you don’t ever make Mamu the decision making ball handler. He might end up receiving a pass at the rim.

Despite playing along great teammates he’s a guy who’s been wildly inefficient the more usage he has taken on and has shown over and over to be a low IQ player.
He’s a fine player, but no one who that bad of a shooter, defender, and playmaker is a “star”.
