Is Kanter even practising with the Kentucky team? What's he doing right now?

Edit: I see he's practising with the team. He's still in good shape then.

Yea I realize it's World versus USA. I should re-phrase. How does he do against the best bigs in general? Who are the best bigs he's faced and what has he done against them?

He hasn't played all that much. But if he comes out and dominates in the Hoop Summit again (and pass the medical tests) he'll go high, unquestionably.

He looks like Boozer to me, and perhaps better with more patient on the defensive end.
He might not be a shot blocker type of big we are looking for, but should be a good prospect and more NBA ready player. Should be top 6 easily.

I don't know how I missed this but P.J. Carlesimo is calling the game. It sounds like he already knows a lot about the draft class. Whatever he learned from spending a week with these guys could come in very handy when we're deciding.

Didn't watch the game, but it looks like UCLA completely outclassed Arizona and found a way to neutralize Williams. I can't say I'm that surprised.

Alec Burks has been great for Colorado however, with 29-9-4.

Texas couldn't stop Burks at all. He's an interesting offensive player, could be a lottery pick.

I found this video interesting. Supposedly he took it to Nazr Mohammed which sounds promising. Says that he wants to play forward but he looks like a 5 to me. He seems athletic enough to play in our system without being a defensive/rebounding liability in the paint. BC will love that he can shoot a little and is looking to improve his stroke. Also, he loves wrestling and wants to be the next Undertaker.

What makes him a better prospect than Derrick Williams? A lot of people seem to think so, even though Williams is shooting insane percentages compared to Jones.

Kanter doesn't look very athletic. Foot work is okay, but he barely gets off the ground. Is he playing for Kentucky or is he GOING to play for them next season

I didn't say that he was, are you asking me? Some people think Jones has a better shot to play the 3 in the NBA. They are both athletically gifted but are perceived as tweeners. Regardless of position they are both extremely talented and will be taken in the first half of the lottery. It's not easy to decide between the two because D-Will is doing a little better now but T-Jones shows signs that he could be a better pro. Jones has averaged 9.1 rebounds, 2 blocks and 1.2 steals per game so that's promising.

D-Will was a 3-star recruit coming into Arizona and he's a year older than Terrence so he has skeptics but you can't argue with his play this year. You also can't forget that Williams plays is in the cupcake pac-10. I know the SEC isn't great but they still have some tough teams. I wont be able to decide who I want after Kyrie until after the conference and NCAA tournaments. A few guys have shown great potential but lets see if they can do it on the big stage against the best players.

Pac-10 and SEC are of fairly similar stature. The SEC West is an absolute disgrace with an entire division made up of mediocore or bad teams, while the East is quite good.

Ken Pom Confere Rankings
5. PAC-10
7. SEC (although the west brings it down)

KenPom SOS
Kentucky 32
Arizona 35

There really is not that much difference in schedule strength - they both are mediocore by BCS standards. I have no clue how you build up your assertion that Kentucky's schedule is much better but its false.

Where did I say that Kentucky's schedule is much tougher? I said that the Pac-10 is a cupcake conference, which it is. The only thing I said about UK was that the SEC isn't great, but they still have some tough matchups. When Jones goes on the road to Vandy, Florida and Tennessee those aren't easy games and overall the SEC has tougher individual matchups for Jones. D-Will is the best player in his conference no matter where he plays.

Arizona got smoked by UCLA. Honeycutt had the better of that match up which is not expected.

There are more cupcakes in the SEC then the PAC-10. Spin, spin away to try to cover up your incorrect comment all you want.

You are the one with the incorrect comment. I never praised the SEC, I said that it wasn't great. SEC teams still play hard because they have solid defensive minded coaches and great defensive players like Jeffery Taylor at Vanderbilt. The Pac-10 is terrible. There is no physicality and when D-Will finally went up against guys his own size at USC he was exposed. There are a few good guards in the Pac but T-Jones would be putting up crazy numbers if he was on Oregon or something. I'm not saying anything against Williams, just his conference.

That's why we don't draft him. He is a PF, and perhaps he could be like Kenyon Martin.

& we're talking about individuals here. If you look at the draft express top 30, 8 of them are from the SEC. How many from the Pac-10? One...Derrick Williams.
