Re: March Madness Discussion Thread (Canadian Focus)
BS 5 second call was given because the Arizona coach bitched about the non-call earlier.
Texas player also took forever to bring it up the floor not leaving enough time in case there was a miss.

Next up on TNT and CBS, 64 referees go head to head to determine the nations best team! Later tonight well check in on the Notre Dame Fightin Irish and the Florida State Seminols to watch two electrifying referees try to make a name for themselves on college basketballs biggest stage!

Man anytime I think to myself how bad officiating is in the NBA I just have to watch a few college games to remember how much worse it could be.

Re: March Madness Discussion Thread (Canadian Focus)
they had no more timeouts .... still, cory should have lobbed it in for jcovan rather than lay down for the violation. Stupid play.

On a side note D Will looks like he can play SF. I wouldn't mind drafting him.

Yes they did have a timeout left. This can't call a timeout after 4 second rule that everyone is claiming doesn't exist, I just read through the NCAA rulebook and nowhere does it mention this.

Supposedly the ref in the Texas-Arizona game was the same one who screwed Rutgers in the Big East Tournament...

The games involving Canadian players are ending very badly.
Besides Duke winning this day is going very badly. Now NC is getting a nice draw. Ugh.

Bracket's been busted beyond belief already, but would be nice to get this FSU upset over ND called correctly.

Re: March Madness Discussion Thread (Canadian Focus)
Syracuse you do it to me again....sigh
There have been quite a few games decided by bad plays at the end of the game.
And this is the worst tournament coverage in a long time, since the advent of digital TV/Satellite. No flipping to cover games. At the end of the Syracuse game they could have went to the Notre Dame game, but they provided analysis instead. The Score did a way much better job than TSN.
Even the spacing of the games on Sunday. In the past they had all the games finishing around 6pm. But now with TBS on board they are spacing all the games out. Horrible. Should be at least two games going at once, so we/they can flip between the two.

Re: March Madness Discussion Thread (Canadian Focus)
I can't beleive they just cut the coverage on TSN2 for curling. Are you **** serious?
I sent a letter to TSN complaining about the coverage today outlining the following:
a) The fact that they promote that they show it one two networks, when in fact they shift to other events for significant chunks of time. For example, tonight the first half of Syracuse was not available, beacuse both Texas and Syracuse were playing at overlapping times.
b) They often show the same game as CBS, even when they know Canadian viewers have no access to TNT/TBS. So what happens is its the same game on both networks, and we have no access to the other game.
c) No coverage of play in games
d) Way too much commercial time compared to the Score, and the same redundant analysis to fill in time. No look ins to other games.
Just a pathetic job.
