You mean Ross and James Johnson? DeRozan didn't even do that bad of a job on Harden.

i was mostly referring to that dagger 3 he drained in his eye

Ya cause a three point shot from Harden is so easy to cover....

lol a week ago Lowry leads Toronto to an impressive comeback win against the Cavs when they were up all night and fought till the bitter end, and then we lose today and grab your forks and pitchforks.

Hyperbole. A few should learn the word.

I didn't even get through five full pages and I saw several posts about how the defense has been slipping, yet I didn't see anyone mention that Carroll has been sidelined during this prolonged defensive slide.

I couldn't find anything after a quick search, so I did a few quick calculations.

In the 23 games with DmC: 96.7 opp ppg, 43.0 opp FG%
In the 38 games without DmC: 99.3 opp ppg, 45.6 opp FG%

You can say that the 23 games he played were earlier on in the season when teams are still figuring out their offensive systems, but you also have to take into consideration the good offensive teams that we played in that stretch (GS x2, CLE, LAC, OKC, ATL, CHI x2, DAL, BOS, etc).

I'm not proclaiming Carroll to be our saviour, but he's going to make an immediate impact when he returns and hopefully it's enough to bring our defense back to where we want it.

Went to the game. TV might not show it, but this is the team we lost to:

- Howard practicing sky hooks from half court in pre-game
- Beasley practicing 360-between-the-legs dunks in pre-game, while looking high af
- Harden looks like he hates basketball

Sounds like the team we saw out there.

Looks like the only easy games down the stretch are NJ x 2, Orlando, New York and Philly. Raptors have a much better record than most of the other teams, but they are teams that usually play the Raptors tough like Charlotte, Miami, Boston Indiana etc.

To all the people saying it's only one game, that's not the point. We lost this game because of horrific defence where the rockets were getting easy and open 3s, easy penetration, stupid fouls and lay ups. Just a major breakdown of our defence that has become a pattern for awhile now. Since February 1st, we're 7th worst in defensive rating and that is a big issue headed into the playoffs. Our issues defensively have been apparent for some time but it seems like the team is content to just ignore them and continue attempting to win on the offensive end.

Not really.

There are issues, but a this point last year we were 21 in D, today we are twelfth. It's called a season for a reason. A poor defensive month, true, but one looks holistically. This was a team that has been consistently in the top 10 on the defensive side of the ball, so they have the capability.

A few lackadaisical efforts in the last month that are problems and need to be cleaned up, but again, you don't look at the best month on a certain side, or the worst one, you have to take it all together.

This is what bothers me, this "OH IF YOU AREN'T PISSED ABOUT THINGS IN AN EXTREMELY ANGRY FASHION, THEN YOU'RE IGNORING WHAT'S HAPPENING!".

Well no, most would say the D has slipped in the last month, a lot of lazy efforts of late, where we have been winning and a loss IMO is good, the guys keep winning with pretty mediocre D and need to get some reality checks to go back to playing tough all throughout the game.

They have issues, but they've been good most of the year, so they need to just slow the game down again, not get ahead of themselves, and stop thinking the PO are tomorrow. They need to tighten the screws and play hard defensively every possession.

Demarre has played 23 out of 64 games lol James johnson is not that bad of a defendar. Demarre last game before his injured, Jimmy butler scored 51 on him

What scares me the most is that casey addressed this at shoot around and said "there must be something in the water" regarding guys shooting well vs us. They're giving up wide open 3s consistently and our defense looks bad for long stretches of games it's not blind luck. I can get trying to hide and act like everything is ok in front of the media so the team doesn't get discouraged or w.e but at least have a little accountability and don't try to make it seem like guys are hitting lucky shots all night vs us

I stated that Carroll had only played 23 of the 61 games (played in 23, didn't play in 38). Also, Butler scored 42 "on him" the final game before Carroll's knee surgery, which should be pretty obvious that he wasn't at 100%.
