OG has not improved on offense at all.

He literally just hopes to hit stand still threes on passes, otherwise has nothing to offer. He will stay in that 10-12 PPG for his career.

It seems like losing Gasol and his excellent passing abilities is an underrated loss for our team's offense. Without that additional passing acumen, you can see just how utterly anemic our offense was tonight. Anunoby, Powell, and other players used to get plenty of points off of cutting to the rim and having Gasol find them quickly.

Honestly shocked we let Gasol walk. For all of his inabilities a d shortcomings, he made the other 4 guys much much better.

Baynes, or anyone in that role won't be able to mimic that

Based on his comments after signing with the Lakers, it seems like he didn't want to come back. He said he wanted a smaller role, something which the Raptors wouldn't be able to give him.

OG might feel bad because he wasn't part of the championship run.

Don't think we can count on much on his offensive end... puts lots of pressure on Pascal as only legit forward scorer... plus boucher .... team misses Ibaka who would have been 18/9 every night as starter...

Don't understand why you sign these extensions when you have all the negotiating advantages when he's a restricted free agent. Look what the pelicans are doing with Ingram and now with Ball.

Wow so many crying pansies. If the guy hit 2 of his 5 3s you're looking at a stat line of 14points, 8rbs, 2ast, 3stl, 2blk. For a guy who took ten shots total. In the first game. Playing as his old deferred to other starters role. Wait till he's asked to actually do more on offense. And it's not like he gets the ball and doesn't know what to do with it on offense, or forces it.

It wouldn't be Raptors RealGM without the one game overreaction.

lol. “If he hit X amount of shots...”

What?

He didn’t and he scored 8 points looking like the same player he always has.

He literally has 0 offensive talent.

He doesn’t have much to his offense, nothing to do with role. What would he force it and do with his limited skills.

Yes, critiquing OG for not improving as a scorer in 4 years makes people pansies.

OG is highly overrated. Rich Paul knows what he's doing and there's a reason why he lot him sign this deal. Nic Batum 2.0

A guy who shot close to 40% from 3 last year went 4 of 5 2p and 0 of 5 3p. So if he hits what's more or less his average 3 point percentage with those 5 shots it makes it 2 out of 5. Wouldn't be doing anything new. Just going by his average from last year. Hey who knows, maybe he's regressed and will shoot 0 3s from here on. Then, I'll say you're right. In the mean time I doubt you'll get the point.

He also averaged 10 points a game last year and single digits every other year.

Also most of his threes are from passes - not just anywhere. He’s not a dynamic shooter. He gets his scores off of passes. So 0/5 doesn’t mean 5 of the same looks he’s accustomed to.

OG just isn’t that offensively gifted. Not sure why people get so offended to hear the truth.

He is considered by many to be the best wing defender in the NBA and shoots 40% from 3. 72 million is excellent value. He is not expected to be an all-star at his salary. He still has an opportunity to grow to 15ppg though.

I get gratification from And1s

I'm not offended by most people's posts. Some have really trash opinions though and I like to point those out.

I'm with you man.

A lot of posters seem to be hoping that OG blossoms into this great offensive player. It's just not who he is, he's a role player, he isn't going to consistently average 17 points, or even 15 points a game at this point in his career (if ever).
