A couple issues with this analysis:

1. Not all drafts are created equal. The 4th pick this year is worth much more than a couple years back when DeAndre Hunter went 4th.

We have heard a million times that any given year is a strong year or weak year, but even those analyses are often wrong. Its only after the fact that you know whether this year was a strong year or weak year. If this years 4th pick is worth more, all the more reason to strongly consider a trade for a known commodity, if available.

2. The 4th pick in the draft isn't static. We actually have the ability to pick ANYONE of the players not picked top 3. So, in some respects, we actually have a chance at all-stars picked 5-X. Where X is a range of prospects that might have been selected at 4th.

Would people be surprised if Kuminga when 4th? How about Barnes? Maybe even Sengun, Moody or Mitchell. Technically, any of these guys is the fourth pick if we make them the fourth pick.

You are wrong. The odds is suggesting the success rate of the picks at 4, suggesting the level of inaccuracy of the picks. of course we can pick from a lot more players (not picked 1-3), but the probability of success is only about 25-30%. Based on your rebuttal, why did we pick caboclo at 1st round - pick 20, instead of jokic at 2nd round pick 40? or Valancuinas at 5 instead of kawhi (who was drafted 15). It is not obvious to the best of scouts, and so it is a 25-30% crapshoot.

It's too simple to just look at the results, the process and options are much more dynamic than that.

What? too simple to look at results? What would you rather look at? The stats do not lie. Draft picking is a very low probability success rate. EVEN in 2003, Darko was picked over carmelo, Bosh and Carmelo over Wade. Even Jordan was only picked 3. Not trying to be mean, but you're entire rebuttal is wrong.

Your entire point is wrong. Its too simplistic. Different front offices are better at SCOUTING! They will make different CHOICES under the same circumstances. The results are what other people would have done. Why are you comparing Masai to Kahn? That's actually what you are doing here. Jesus man it's not even hard to understand.

Not to be mean man, but your point is absolute garbage.

That's all.

You build championships with PGs and Cs. All other positions are supplementary.

Considering the way Vanfleet plays and Suggs and VanFleet make a great backcourt. Add in a resigned Trent Jr. Gives you a great 3 headed monster.

Problem is we are still effed at C position.
The league doesn't run that way anymore. Dominant wings win rings. Theres my new slogan. Having said that i definitely go with suggs too. Ur conclusion is correct ur philosophy is flawed

You’ve said multiple times he isn’t elite at anything and you don’t see the reason to take him instead of trading the pick. I didn’t say he would be Wade, but he would turn the corner like Wade did once Miami stopped playing him at the 1 and let him be the shooting guard full time. I wasnt comparing their quickness, just their roles in college vs what it could be in the nba. I am 100% saying however, that he alone is more valuable than Myles Turner. Both Jalens in fact

He says he has no explosive athletic ability and he's wrong in that case. Not many PGs can catch back door lobs, and suggs can.

I saw a lob play on a highlight last night that made me and my friends say Ouuuu for suggs. Not only did he catch the lob, he thru it down with force. That's about as much athleticism as you're gonna get from a lead guard unless you're JA

While Green is next level athlete with hops and flexibility and power, Suggs is no slouch either. In high school he was pretty nuts:

People can debate style and measurements differences, but to me Suggs just has a vibe to him. To me, if it all comes together he will be like D Rose. He has size, strength, quickness and balance. He just needs to work on that handle to get it to an elite level.

People are calling him "sneaky athletic" - I don't think there's anything sneaky about it. Guy just looks "athletic athletic", with a fully developed NBA ready body

If he does the combine, I wouldn't be surprised if his numbers compare to mid/late lotto guys who are considered "raw athlete" types. Reminds me of when Harden had "concerns about athleticism" only to put up a 37 inch vert and better agility/sprint numbers than Derozan

If Jalen Green is there (I don’t think he will be imo)

Please take him. Suggs will surprise a few and both him and Cade will get the jump early.

But Jalen Green is special. Not since Luka have I been this high on a prospect.

Imagine if Beal had Kobe/MJ athleticism... that’s Green.

You watch this kid is something else.

Green is and will better a basketball player then Edwards. There is a stark contrast between the two.

College year Edwards and this years Jalen Green it was apparent who was the better basketball player.

Watching him live, slow mo and on repeat (a lot of full games saved college, g league, euro) it’s different to all the other 30-35 prospects

15 pounds and that’s it.

i wonder what it would take to move up to 2, would you guys do 4 + a top 5 protected next year? i love suggs... i love mobley... but green, it wouldnt shock me if hes got one of the highest trade values in the league after the first 10 games. Hes got a full arsenal and on top of that hes one of the most athletic players in the world.

I have a hard time seeing suggs or mobley as super stars, not all stars but super stars. I can easily picture green becoming one, guys.... this is our chance, this is what we've been waiting for, this is probably the best opportunity we have for a superstar shot creator in the next 5 years.

I agree there is nothing sneaky about his athleticism. He is just a high IQ unselfish player that doesn't force things. People fail to realize this guy was a two-sport athlete like our potential new guy Ishmail Wainwight:
