Here is mine. Call it big board v2 (v1 is posted in a different forum).
1. Wembanyama
2. Miller
3. Sasser
4. Henderson
5. Dick
6. Hendricks
7. Wallace
8. Whitmore
9. Hawkins
10. Sensabaugh
11. Bufkin
12. George
13. Miller
Quick notes:
- I'm in love with Sasser. I think he's the best PG in this class and would take him at 13. Wouldn't even trade down since I'd be scared someone took him. Yup my love is irrational but don't care.
- No love for the Thompson twins. Going to the Overtime Elite was a bad call. Too risky for me.
- Scoot's lack of shooting worries me (under 28% in the g-league from 3). He's gone before we pick but he's below Sasser for me. I do like his explosiveness. Ja is a good comp. Non-gun toting Ja is exciting but his lack of shooting can be a problem. Need a guard that can shoot in our system. Especially with Scottie there too.
- Dick and Hendricks I think are the best two pure shooters in the draft.
- Wallace I think is the next best PG. Kawhi like PG is all I needed to hear.
- Whitmore is a Nova guard. Can't go wrong there.. despite not having Jay Wright to coach him.
- Hawkins/Brice/Kobe are pretty interchangeable. Can really flip them around in any way. I do like Hawkins probably more but it's super close.
- Keyonte's stats worry me. 30%+ usage and bad efficiency stand out. But he was apparently injured. So will use that as an excuse.
- Leonard Miller has a lot of tools to be a really good player in the league so my final pick.
Wow, your draft board looks like Dean on Draft co-authored it with no Thompson twins in the lottery. Makes for an interesting read as if Thanos snapped them out of existence and you had to create a draft board.
Sasser at 3 seems bizarre. Most people project him as a late first/early second. Do you really project him as that big a difference maker than Fred Van Vleet?

A Fred that's 6'2, has 6'7 wingspan and can shoot more consistently.. than yeah sign me up!

Amen to that.
I wouldn't be shocked if he becomes the best player in the draft. If Wemb, w his body, doesn't get injured often, it would be a rare situation. Scoot is small and can't shoot, Miller doesn't have Amen's potential.
OG is perfect fit w harden.

Shoots 25% from three, nice other than that.

no doubt, he has to improve his shooting, which if you look a the numbers throughout the season, he did improve.

Re: 2023 Draft Discussion Part 5
Raps gotta draft BPA with projection of upside. If that’s Miller or Bilal, wouldn’t worry about the patience it will take for them to become players. We lack talent and need a major injection.

Sasser is going to make a lot of front offices look stupid for passing on him. His stepback 3 is unguardable and deadly. He has big hands and the tightest handle in the entire class. I see zero reason he won't be able to score with the floater well enough and dish to teammates if he gets run off the 3 point line and his range is so deep that he will space the floor better than anyone in the entire class. I'd be extremely excited to see him put a Raptors jersey on.

some tourney highlights some guy just uploaded
look at the shot he takes 2:17 he makes those at a really high percentage. teams seriously might need to play up on him like they would steph curry.

The deals are there as I just pointed out. Pelicans got a good roster and smacked with injuries last season. Offloading young guys and picks for dame puts them into contention. If houston gets harden and makes other moves, thats another team. These will be all winning scenarios for Dame and a lot better than his situation now.
You never pointed out nothing. Houston trades for his 50 million salary, they can't sign harden. Pelicans only have guards to trade them and they already have scoot, Simmons, and share.
Nothing you're saying is making any sense.
Well it’s clearly been explained to you, not sure what you dont understand. POR’s focus is to get picks and young talent - they are rebuilding with this move. If it’s DD or trey and picks - why wouldnt that entertain POR? It would.
Trading Dame is the best move for them. Everyone knows it. Just because you want Scoot or Miller and want Raps to trade Siakam for them doesn’t mean that Cronin will listen to you.
lol they aren't trading Dame unless Dame asks them too.

Nba changes on a dime dude. if they decide to keep the pick he can easily ask out. These are all hypotheticals.

8 WAS Cason Wallace - Defensive PG to pair with Beal
9 UTA Gradey Dick - Perfect shooter to pair with Kessler/Markanen
10 DAL Taylor Hendricks - Fills the Dorian Finney Smith role
11 ORL Jordan Hawkins - This team desperately need a shooter
12 OKC Leonard Miller - Nice frontcourt option to pair with Chet
13 TOR Anthony Black
I am set on Washington because Cason will win them over as a special defender and perfect guard for them.
Utah may want Black but I think the shooting Dick offers is special enough that they go with BPA - plus this is the market for a tall white shooter.
I don't think Dallas would skip on Hendricks because of his 3 and D and no need for a connector with Luka and Kyrie.
Orlando could go with Keyonte or Hawkins. They need scoring punch because they already have size so no need for another non-shooting PG.
OKC is the toughest to deal with. They may like Miller because he fits who they look for, but I could see Kobe Bufkin if they want another driver. No way they want Black with Giddey and Jalen Williams and SGA eating possessions.
So, does Toronto draft Anthony Black over a Kobe Bufkin or a Hood-Schifino? Black is the best true PG option - excellent driver and can play off ball as a cutter with high level finishing and the defense is excellent. Ran Spain pick and roll and will likely get to do the same in Toronto with Poeltl. Problem is the shooting and spacing he has to work with in Toronto.
Either way, I can very easily see him falling to Toronto barring Utah using their pick on him.
I think I saw one mock draft that also had Black falling to us at 13. He would help fill the PG role and improve our defense/size. But I agree, problem would still be the shooting and spacing.

If Portland is open to trading the pick, they should do it before the draft. That pick (and hence the return) becomes faaaaar less valuable if Charlotte takes Scoot (which i expect them to do).

Black shoots like he has blindfolds on, but his defense and ball pressure is unreal, if he could shoot I would ve taken him second overallniQ wrote:Dalek wrote:Thinking about that second half of the lottery:
