I guess there are coaches out there that are worse than Casey.

Anyone else looking forward to Casey's iso-heavy offense after watching this tourney?

Watching JV get a second chance opportunity and get fouled is painful. It's exactly why he's supposed to be out there. And of course misses both free throws haha

Mike Fratello has had nothing but praise for JV in this game with the commentary! Said that LTU could have had a much better chance at winning if he had gotten more playing time and was shocked at his lack of touches!
Props to TZ for the sig:

But at least JV is fighting for rebounds and getting to the line. The other 2 bigs for Lithuania that played a lot haven't even gotten to the line today.

Altering shots. Blocking shots. Nice to see even if the game is a runaway!

Casey wouldn't get out of Eurobasket group stage even when having Spain as his team.

lol at you thinking one tournament will discourage jonas from participating for his national team. that is never going to happen. winning silver in his first eurobasket is pretty amazing for somebody his age and kazlauskas had a major role in that, so he's not going anywhere.

get used to jonas participating on the LTU team because there won't be a change regardless of how much of an asset he is for this team.

Of course you make the risky interior pass for non-Jonas, of course you do.

I sure hope he does. Maybe he should get Canadian citizenship and play for... ah never mind I won't get my hopes up.

keep dreaming.

oh i hate the coach who doesn't play valaciunas! i mean, he did coach the team up to a silver medal, but val didn't get his playing time so he's gotta suck.

What's the general consensus.. disappointing performance by JV or bad coaching decision to not let him play more?

Still a good (humbling I'm sure) experience for Jonas, but bring on preseason.

While I agree with the fact that Jonas will probably keep participating with the national team, I don't understand the unwavering defense of the last two Lithuanian national coaches. Sure they got silver, but the coach prevented this game from even being competitive, even if France was better.

I give credit for Lithuania's success to its talented players, not to its coach's non-existent offensive system.

EDIT: ^and his arguably poor rotational choices.

My bad. Still though, always nice to hear people talking about our franchise!

the general consensus among raptors fans concerns everybody being the cause of jv's misfortunes.

consensus among lithuanians is that we got a silver and this was way more successful eurobasket than it was with kemzura.

Not even going to lie I'm just bitter that I spent all this time watching the game to see Jonas play and he was left out. I know nothing about their coach, just pissed that JV didn't play

Congrats to France for well deserved gold, and LT for silver. I think JV will come out of this very motivated to prove that it was mistake to not play him more. I really hope next big tournament whoever is coaching LT has no choice but to play JV and Dmo more as Javtokas and Lavrinovic brothers should retire from national team.
