I don't see how Houston would "win" Bosh by outbidding the other teams. Bosh probably has a place he wants to go more than the others, and he will get 130 mil there.

I think Miami is the overwhelming favorite and the only way Houston plays into this is if Mia prefers Amare to Bosh (but I'm almost certain they don't - Riley/Spo will want to build a defensive powerhouse around Wade and Bosh)

Is it just me, of did he just take 5 steps going into that 3 pointer at the 3:00 mark? Guess they really never call travelling in the NBA

Correct, but they still have to come up with an attractive package to attain him because they not only have to sell Bosh on coming to Houston, they have to sell the Raptors on trading him there.

I think Morey will do an excellent job of selling Houston to Bosh. Hell, even without the return, I want Bosh to go to Houston. I think it's the perfect placve for him if he doesn't want to be overshadowed by another big name like D-Wade.

Plus, he'll have a ton of fans/ twitterers internationally & will be voted into the allstar game for the rest of his career....

We all know just how much Bosh loves his followers....

I just re watched it a couple times and he took two steps after his last dribble which started the second the ball touched his hands.

While I have nothing but respect for dagger and I don't want to start a beef, between

Saying Triano was the team's biggest problem this year
Defending Bargnani constantly and pushing him to get more touches when offense was never a problem + throwing dirt on Bosh as a max value player
Saying MLSE handcuffed BC into keeping Triano
Constantly pushing a Houston idea where the Budinger, Hill, 2 1sts return would be vastly greater than anything Miami/Chicago would give back

It's getting hard not to say "dagger is to Brian Colangelo as Brian Colangelo is to Bargnani"...

Ya I watched it a few more times and its definitely not a travel. There were two refs both with perfect views and they both didnt call a travel.

yeah, that's right. If Bosh really has only one or two teams in mind and won't take a trade to anywhere else, then Colangelo is screwed. But you know i just don't see why Bosh would do that? Is Miami going to be any better than the western teams he would be sent to? Miami are still a long way from contention even with Bosh. Houston, San Antonio (if they get involved) or LA have it all right there waiting.

It doesn't make sense to me that Bosh would only want that certain location unless he already made up his mind a long time ago. But you never know, maybe he has.

Another thing people forget is that Bosh would not have to play second banana to anyone on houston, he would be the clear cut #1 guy. Yao will be limited, Bosh will be their future.

I think we should do this trade with Houston and get the picks+Hill. Complete rebuild going with young athletic, talented North American players for a change. Bring back some excitement to the ACC and give hope to the fans.

Draft Whiteside with our #13 pick
Draft Xavier Henry with #14 Houston pick
Draft Eric Bledsoe - Buy ATLANTA #24 pick
Draft Paul George -Buy another pick from Memphis #21

Trade Jose&Turk+cash for expirings

Bledsoe/Jack/Banks
Henry/Weems/Belinelli
Derozan/George
Bargnani/Amir/Hill
Whiteside/Evans

We could use our expirings(which we would have a TON!) to upgrade the roster if desired. This would be exciting!

^ IF the expirings were not used to acquire talent than we would be set up for a top 5 pick in the 2011 and 2012 drafts. Draft a true franchise player. We could be the OKC of the East.

MEDIC wrote:I want:

I think that is one of the more realistic requests I've seen.

But this IS Colangelo. He won't want pieces of hope. He will want Brooks or Scola (by hook or crook) or he won't play. That might be realistic BHJ+2. Battier if we kept him would be a very good acquisition for a defensively challenged outfit like the Raps but this is Bosh we are talking about. I mean this above package means we are taking salad stuffing in Jeffries to roll out a red carpet for CB4. This will not happen on BC's watch of that I'm certain. Sounds too much like EWIL/AWIL the nightmare part 2. I would hope we take a flyer on Beasley or Deng/Hindrich/Asik before we entertain that deal. If we were a rebuilding kind of organization then maybe but MLSEL wants something to put on the cover of the program. Also nobody knows what is truly realistic because these marquee guys have never hit the market all at the same time before. It is either a feeding frenzy or fizzle but a lot of teams have been planning for this day.

Hill/Budinger > Scola/Brooks

Sure the latter are better now but in the next year or two its going to be the two young guys killing it.

+1
I want nothing to due with Brooks or Scola.. Give me Chase, Hill draft picks, and expirings

that being said like the one poster said already.. BC is 100% going to want at least one of Brooks/ Scola :-? We'll never be rebuilding with BC at the helm..

I'm still waiting for someone to give examples off free agents being S&T for multiple young prospects and multiple draft picks. You guys seem to be setting your sights on a package that has never happened, or at least not recently. The Raptors just don't have that much leverage if Bosh decides to leave, and certainly not enough to get other teams to add on bloated contracts in this economy. I'm not trying to come off like an ass, but I don't see any examples of free agents getting traded for the packages in this thread, and there are more good options this summer. Miami, OKC and Chi can sign the dude outright and he makes all of them competitors.

I wouldn't wager that even if it was someone else's money. Scola might fade but Brooks will be a force for some time.

I just don't see Brooks as a good fit for our team.. he's all offense and no defense type of player we have enough of those already..

plus, He'll remind everyone of Mike James..
