Some of you people need to stop judging a player by the way they look or where they're from and start judging them by what they bring to the court. Also the people commenting how "this signing is terrible because Kleiza isn't going to make a difference", your talking like BC signed him to lead this team to a championship, the contract isn't that big so chill the hell out or just shut the **** up

Seriously, how many **** retards are on this board?

You think MLSE will let him put a **** product on the floor, where only the die hards like us will watch. The team still needs to look respectable.

They want to rebuild, but they also don't want to suck. They want good players but they want to tank. Most have no clue.

I want to rebuild and tank this year because attempting to win anything would be futile. That's pretty simple, no?

BC isn't the type of GM willing to let his team to tank and have a similar record like Nets last season. Also BC works proactively so you/MLSE will not say he is a lazy bum, not doing anything and have the excuse to fire him. He is doing all these for the team of course as well as his job security.

It's a completely blah contract. He's peaked as a player. He's a decent player getting the correct amount of dollars. He won't make any impact on a bad team i.e. the raptors. He'll probably be shipped off within 2 years because of having a 5,6 or 7 year veteran on your team while it's rebuilding isn't a great idea. This gets a C+ from me.

After all that's said and done after this offseason, the Raptors will attempt to make the 8th seed and we'll get another pick in the 12-18 range.
Prediction
Spurs in 7. Parker MVP. Lebron 6-17fg, 18pt, 8reb, 5 asst in game 7 LOSS.
The Heat will choke!

I think if someone was intentionally trying to sabotage this team, he'd be pulling the same moves Colangelo is.

It seems the general consensus shows love for Kleiza, but still questions why BC is signing him. I wonder if BC had decided to re-sign Wright how many objections would have been forthcoming. Kleiza may cost three times Wright's salary but he is ten times the player.

Bryan has shown he can move vertually any contract, i'm not concerned about future cap space and Kleiza at 5 mill per is not bad at all

thats whats people said about Calderon, Hedo, belinelli do you see where am going with this a lot of you must not get it if this euro thing worked more people would be doing it. BC just doesn't no how to sprinkle euro on this team. what i mean by that is just had a few who can play hard but he just want to keep pouring on something thats not bin working for him from DAY 1

Other teams are doing it. The day BC starts bringing in only euro's come talk to me. But c'mon, you act like we're the only team with Europeans on it.

Who said it hasn't been working?

Bargnani, aside from Roy (6), Gay (9) and Rondo (21), is the only player anyone should take out of the first 30 picks of the draft in 2006.

Garbo and Delfino played pivotal roles during their tenure here.

Belinili costs us almost nothing - 2.3 mil and a 3.3 QO next year. Would you rather have Devean George?

He inherited Calderon - though gave him some obscene contract.

The obvious mistake Colangelo made was with Turkoglu but to say every single European that has played for this team hasn't been working would be an overreaction.

Would you be happier if all the Europeans played for free? Look at some of the more ridiculous contracts on the market - Rashard at 20.5, Redd at 18.3, Arenas at 17.7, Vince at 17.3, Brand at 15.9. Do you think they earn their keep? Every GM makes mistakes.

Two further thoughts: I'd be front loading this contract, starting Kleiza at the top MLE rate of $5.8m, then having the numbers descend, which would make him more tradeable in future.

And if Denver matches, we have still done Bill Duffy a favor.

Good Article On Linus a week ago:

http://nba.fanhouse.com/2010/06/30/linas-kleiza-open-to-returning-to-nba/

Would Kleiza, a native of Lithuania, be willing to re-sign with Denver?

"If it was the right situation for me, it would be very nice to come back,'' said Kleiza, speaking about the possibility of returning either next season or for 2011-12 to the Nuggets if he stays in Greece and becomes a free agent next summer.

Share Kleiza said his agent, Bill Duffy, will be looking into his situation until the July 15 deadline for Kleiza to pick up his option next season for $6 million. If a suitable NBA multi-year contract were to surface, it would be something for Kleiza to consider. If it was with a team other than the Nuggets, Kleiza could sign it and Denver would have seven days to match.

The Nuggets last week tendered Kleiza a $2.7 million qualifying offer to keep him a restricted free agent. Kleiza said he would not return to the Nuggets on a one-year deal for $2.7 million, which would be less than half of what he's making in Greece.

But what if the Nuggets again were to offer Kleiza a four-year, $25 million deal? They had that offer on the table before it was pulled off by Denver owner Stan Kroenke just before the Oct. 31, 2008 deadline for Kleiza to sign a contract extension because the Nuggets were about to trade for Chauncey Billups and take on salary in future years.

"If they will, we can talk,'' Kleiza said of that offer again being presented by the Nuggets. "But I don't have a deal in front of me.''

You want to make this team respectable to casual fans? Stop treating them like idiots.

Bring in Michael Beasley to play heavy minutes and not Linus Kleiza to drop 9/4 for the same type of dollars. Easily the best talent we'd have on the roster. He'd get 20/7 playing here. There's your next "star" and fans keep coming to games and buying merchandise. In two years, you could either re-sign Beasley or not, assuming one of the other players on the roster actually develops into something Torontonians could call a "star".
