I am broke you seductive latino moth**..... Seriously, I am not crazy for jerseys. I think its more for locals, who attend games.
I had few Lithuanian grateful dead ones though, but its just because they were awesome, it made Jamaicans look silly, and those were very popular and easy to get no matter where you live.

Re: Jonas Valanciunas 11/12 Season Thread III
A consistent drop step fade from a 7' big with a 7'6 wingspan is a "go to" post move that is fairly unguardable on any level. I'm extremely optimistic for his potential as a post player. He's also shown proficiency on that running hook in the lane, you simply can't guard that shot.
Early judgements on his play were mostly based on what he did as an 18 year old and prior; calling him a guy who scores the majority of his points on dunks, putbacks and chip shots around the basket. It's almost a little unfair, how many bigs at that age have a highly developed post game?
I believe he'll be far closer to Pau Gasol as opposed to Andris Biedrins, who he was consistently compared to for whatever reason (they're both white and can rebound!). It's not as though his phenomenal touch from the FT line/mid range is something that is new.

ebay + international shipping? That's how I got mine 5 years ago and it really wasn't that difficult.

Yeah that's definitely true anywhere in the world. There was a time I shared your frustration before realising you'd have to be a really terrible businessman to stock your shop with raptors gear outside of Toronto! It's a pretty niche market

Re: Jonas Valanciunas 11/12 Season Thread III
Just found another article from Spain mentioning the preview of the game vs Valencia. They recognize the importance of Jonas for his team.. They also say it will be a tough game, but at the end of the day Valencia is the favourite to reach the finals of Eurocup (because of budget and talent)

What talent do they have in mind? Talanted people who are going to NBA or dudes who didn't manage to go there or stay there?

Yeah, I think Pau is a much more likely model for Jonas' production as a young player than someone like Biedrins or Noah. He's got an offensive arsenal and he utilizes his full length to score at an extremely high rate. He probably isn't quite as refined as Pau coming in but he's not all that far off. I think he's a better rebounder, he's bigger, and he's got a better power game. Now, his minutes will be limited to make sure he doesn't break down after 24 months or so of continuous basketball and a grueling Casey training camp but his pace adjusted offensive numbers figure to be huge, just as they are with Rytas.

He is going to take 5 years to develop, don't expect immediate results.

There is this page superfanas.lt, its a Internet store.
I doubt they sell Rytas jerseys tho, I dont know... However, person who runs this superfanas.lt, is also the very same person, who runs VAL's facebook fan page (A. Puscius that is, not the other guy). I believe he helped people overseas before, so yeah, contact his superfanas.lt.

Thanks a lot man, I really appreciate it! Fingers crossed!

Seeing how garbage Bosh is playing in Miami I actually believe we got the better deal in the Jonas for Bosh trade

Please guys don't hype him up that much. His rookie year will be difficult - he has to adapt to a lot of new things, put on some mass and so on. I think he'll start producing at the end of the year ( or at best at the mid - season) so ROY is highly unlikely.

ROY is usually given to guys who produce on the offensive end, and put up sexy numbers. Although, with this year's crop, and the focus being on Davis coming in, I can see some of his defensive abilities being taken into account, and for that to rub off on how people look at Jonas.
I'm not expecting ROY by any stretch, but I also don't see him taking 5 years to develop. The kid has already been playing with grown-ass men in Europe and putting up really good numbers on insane efficiency. I think he'll have much more an impact than some of you are prepared for.

I wouldn't give Colangelo too much credit here, considering he was the one who traded away our first rounder for Shawn Marion a few seasons ago.

Re: Jonas Valanciunas 11/12 Season Thread III
At times he looks great, you really expect him to contribute right away. But games against Zalgiris were kinda like a dream killer. After all, we know the competition is not there and motivated Javtokas is the closest thing to a good NBA defensive center, and he locked Jonas for good, 2 times already this season.
So yeah, if you keep hopes that high, you will probably be disappointed.

What's that craze with an adaptation? Each year Jonas exceeds expectations would it be U16, Euroleague or senior national team. No hiccups so far, no tears. He loves Basketball, everything else is secondary. What is to adapt to? He is not a puppy. Next year he'll be playing like a 20 year-old and probably he'll be great for his age. The only adaptation he'll face is loosing.
