Didn't OKC lose that game? Dallas is one of the worst teams in the playoffs. They're starting Felton, Zaza, Deron Williams, Matthews (who has regressed since he came back from injury). The fact that you need to fish out such a terrible game by a player to justify DD's performance is just sad. OKC lost to a horrible team. You're essentially saying it's ok for us to lose too. Not to mention, we need to talk about consistency. KD has been consistently elite throughout his career (but might have regressed a bit post-injury) while DD has been consistently poor to average.

I think you guys are going about it the wrong way. It's time to just call it as it is. DD's a solid, but flawed volume scorer who's unnecessarily taking on a lead role. He's not as bad as this series has shown us, but he's not as vital to the team either due to the added depth we have this year.

As for today's game, he had a solid 1st Q shooting wise, but the game isn't just about making shots. That's why we hear a lot less whining about Lowry. It's not because people hate DD and are Lowry fanboys..it's basically because Lowry adds other dimensions to the team to help us win. DD is much more one-dimensional and he's currently struggling at his one strength..maybe partially because the refs aren't giving him those easy calls and partially because PG's length is bothering him.

Fans react based on how a player plays. They like defense, hustle, good IQ, consistency. If one or more of those things aren't happening, you start getting complaints. If DD was playing well (even with a bad FG%), there wouldn't be so much commotion. Simple as that.

Stop trying to play some storyline, team effort got us a team win. Take out DD and who knows what happens. He got us the momentum early to take a nice lead & I can care less about the rest. He had a great game compared to his other ones & he played the role of early scorer - no problem with that. Be thankful this team has so many options rather than nitpicking some BS, it was a TEAM effort and everyone played their part

So you want to overlook everything whenever we win and not try and improve? It's about building a winning culture.

People ignored our problems all of last season saying it was our best year ever. First time to 49 wins. Yet we get swept in the playoffs, our entire assistant coaching staff is gone, we get 8 new players in the off-season. If everything was so perfect, why the discontinuity and drastic change?

You can care less about the rest as long as your favourite player gets his 20 points. That's what makes you a player's fan and not a Raptor's fan.

I don't care about Demar, he's not my favourite player by far. He had a great game today and I'm celebrating that, I'm not going to try to take away from it because I want him or don't want him long term. We have ZERO impact on the moves Masai makes, but at the end of the day I trust what Masai will do (and locking up DD at market value will pay off, even if we trade him later). Right now I'm just happy we won a big game and DD showed up, those are good signs for the rest of the playoffs

Paul George saying Carroll getting away with hitting his elbow and wrist a lot.

That said, he gave massive props to Valanciunas.

why you say that everyone else has played solid the last two games. Even Ross and I'm no fan of his game. Powell has looked good in limited action more so defensively.

They have played well and I'm glad we have them on this team. DD played a great game for us, hung with them early on & got us the early lead, no need to wish Powell or Ross was in there instead. They're options for when our guys are playing off or need a break.

The one thing your forgetting is Demarr plays zero defense. Powell is great on D and ross is solid. Anyways a win is a win I will take it

How did Demar play zero defence? Did his man get by him every time for the score? Keeping your man from having a great game is hard on the NBA level. Almost every player was a star at his college & is offensively gifted. Demar was no Carroll shutting down an elite offensive player but he played his part in our defence.

If the guy Demar is guarding is killing us I'll take Powell or Ross but tonight wasn't that night

Are you kidding? It's worse for hockey than it is basketball.
+/- isn't that accurate for close games but in a game where your team is ahead for pretty much all of it.. and up double digits from mid-2nd quarter on... and the other 2 guys that had 30+ mins had a +/- above +10... I'd say to have a NEGATIVE +/- in that situation is pretty telling. That's a pretty tough thing to do.

how is it worse for hockey when its a hockey stat and just got incorporated to the nba fairly recently?

As a person who's into hockey analytics, trust me, plus minus is a horrible stat.

nope sorry. As a hockey fan, it's a stat that is respected in the nhl way more so than it is in the nba. There are about a hundred hockey players who are in the nhl just because of their rep of having a good +/-

The MVP of this game is actually Silver. He kept the Refs in check.
