Because we don't want this to be a thing.

Just start him for god sakes. We need his passing with Kawhi and Lowry on the floor.

And also a dependable stretch big. Ibaka has made like one 3 in the last month.

It makes absolutely no sense to play him on tee starting lineup especially now that Lowrys shooting sucks. Lowrys bqest trait right now is his ability to facilitate as he's averaging a career high 9+ apg and one of t he lowest 3p% of his career. To now take the ball out of his hands and make him more of a shooter makes absolutely no sense basketball wise considering how he's been playing this year. It makes m or e sense to tale the ball out of FVV's hands with tee bench and make him mrre of a spot up shooter, a role that makes better use of his skillset.

Thats not how it works. OMG this fanbase.

Lowry's facilitating will be better now that the floor is stretched out and a high IQ passer is on the floor. Also there isn't too much pressure on him and he can focus a bit more on shooting.

What has killed Lowry's facilitating is iso Kawhi. Gasol on the floor I think will help Kawhi do less of that.

It's his 1st game. Let him get acclimated. I'm sure he'll be starting most nights if the matchup dictates but our starting 5 with Ibaka has hardly been a problem. I'm actually excited to see how his passing benefits Norm and Fred with the 2nd unit. Let's see how things develop before overacting.
When will we just change the name of 25 of the 30 teams to the Washington Generals?

Please advise….

Are you saying this as a long term solution?

It makes absolutely no sense to play him on tee starting lineup especially now that Lowrys shooting sucks. Yes it's a longterm solution. If the raptors care about winning it's the best decision. If they start gasol just because it's gasol it be **** stupid. Now we move ibaka to t he bench where his bone head iq becomes exacerbated And we continue to let fvv pound the rock. It's a **** no braoner to keep him on the bench. If they start him this trade becomes pointless. Why are we taking the ball out of Lowrys hands when passing is arguably the only thing Lowry has been elite at this season.

Not a big deal to come off the bench first game, but really this is the perfect tune up game to get him acclimated with the other starters. We gonna wait till we play Boston again to throw him to the wolves or something?

There are only 2 teams in the league that rank in the top 6 in offensive and defensive efficiency: the Golden State Warriors and the Toronto Raptors.

You realize this is by design right?

Granted that he has performed well but this is how they overload on Kawhi. The main culprit in those games has been Kyle with his inability to make them pay and therefore force feeding to an open Ibaka all game long. That is how he get 5-6 open threes a game.

Now imagine that we will have Gasol in that same position...mmmmm

Celtics especially, Stevens invites long 2's by the opponent, that's why DeMar had some big games against them for us. He'll keep letting Serge shoot them too lol.

It’s interesting as long as he is averaging 29-30 minutes a game and Ibaka is at 18-19...

Question that comes into play is...

can we still accomplish the same thing by having him start and the. Staggering the minutes so that he is making the bench mob effective?

Are we potentially taking away from improving our already potent starting line-up that has been struggling lately?

Well Masai can smooth it out. Lowe was just speculating from what I heard on the podcast.

Take it easy and just enjoy the game. It's Marc's first game so hope you cut him some slack.

I don't expect Gasol or JV to make massive game changing contribution in their first game. I like Gasol, i just didn't like the trade longterm.

Starter or not, Gasol will probably only play 18 minutes tonight as we quickly blow the doors off the Knicks.

I wholeheartedly expect Gasol to start very soon. There’s no way you bench a player of that caliber.
