I will die on the hill that McCaw is not good.
You're not winning anything substantial with an Andre Roberson starting.

It's just people trying to stick an "escape goat" after every loss.
They did it with Gasol at first because they didn't realize the type of impact he has that doesn't show on the box score.
They tried it with Powell but he really picked his game and consistency before unfortunately getting injured.
Now they've moved onto McCaw since his abrupt rise in minutes has been a complete outlier in his personal career, and that's an easy mark to pinpoint the reason for the team's woes.
I'm sure if Stanley Johnson was getting rotational minutes, people would be pitchforking him too, because they fail to realize the amount of freak injuries that has happened that forces bench players to get more minutes and put in roles they're not used to.

I believe Masai will realize he made a mistake with Mccaw and SJ. He will get rid of them by trade deadline. At this point any scrub sounds better than these two.

Same with McCaw.
Actually wait, what flashes are you talking about with SJ?
Tonight he reminded me of Justise Winslow by being a point forward, but it didn't lead up to anything other than POR clawing back.

Almost eeryone was terrible on offense. U r not going to blame lowry fvv og davis but u r going to blame mccaw for destroying the offense. Yea ok there bud.
Another good game by your boy. Lol

Not picking a scapegoat. TD could be getting all his minutes. That's my annoyance.

Not going to argue about TD's lack of minutes. He and McCaw should be getting equal minutes at the very least, with Davis averaging more at this point in the season.

yea, but what about his defense?
if he isnt as good as you say he isn't, then why will Nurse play him for 30+ minutes tomorrow again? Answer the 2nd question, and I will get off your back.

André Roberson was actually good defensively. Elite possibly. McCaw is terrible in that regard.
He has no business playing NBA minutes.

I believe Nurse has a lot of loyalty for the players he believes helped contribute to the title last year, whether it be in practices or having some spot up minutes during the playoff run. So McCaw, by default, is higher on the depth chart than all the newbies for him.

I still don’t agree with the premise of this thread. But he had no buisness being on the floor in crunch time. We needed more scoring on the floor.

I just don't get it.
McCaw stealing all these minutes is like experiencing the coach's pet Michael Curry nightmare all over again.

Eventually he will have to rely on the non-champions in big game situations.

I agree that Davis should be on the floor over McCaw especially in that situation. Isn’t that enough for you.

Not until McCaw sees the bench.

But what did McCaw do to get so much playing time? Is there any quantifiable result that warrants this?
Well, first off, this was a different game that my quoted post was about and I think you didn't know that....but what did he do tonight? Stay healthy at the moment and I don't think TD was great again. I don't see many, or any, other options.
And fwiw I am not the Patrick McCaw Defense League! He wasn't great either, but meh.
I think the problem solves itself when he's a bench player again.
