This was my favourite play of the night. Not just the no look pass, but how he got his initial pass deflected from the left block and still beat everyone to the ball at the elbow.

Also loved the bad pass from Banton he caught one handed and fed to Yuta for the dunk.

If he caught it, it wasn't a bad pass.

I know we have three spots and a couple two-ways, but Justin Champagnie deserves one of the roster spots. Obviously they could keep him for a number of NBA games as a two-way, but watching him, he looked like a rotation player.

Aside from being big and shooting the ball well, he had 10 boards. He can really mix it up inside and has looked legit throughout SL and now preseason.

Even on defense, at a few points he was in the post taking on Drummond on his rim runs. He had zero backdown and did well to protect the paint. He just looks like a guy who will have a long NBA career - just a natural.

He's basically an athletic 6'7" Lowry. If he could just learn to shoot... ho man.

Mans absolutely brought it last night.
The good thing about BI is he can shoot over defenders.

Barnes is such a good passer. Like he routinely initiates offense with the end goal of making a pass instead of going full tunnel vision for his own offense.

I was laughing when people were saying he wouldaverage 2 to 3 apg in the predict Scotties Barnes stat thread. He will average way more than that the way he plays (and with the ball movement offense we preach)

Wait until he actually learns to shoot and defenders have to go over on the pick and roll. He will be able to pick apart defenses imo.
During the draft, I was most intrigued with his decision making and it's just fun watching a player like that constantly make good decision.

I wish there was a way he could be in the starting line up but we need GTJ's spacing for our offence to flow lol. Barnes give us that Gasol stimulus boost where he can unclog the offence with his vision.

Yeah, having an average mid range game opens up the floor for him and us.

I can't wait to see GTJ with a full squad. I don't think last year was a proper intro to his services. I still think he has a chance to be better than Norm.

With the Raptors clamoring for Length and Height...I wouldn't be surprised to see Malachi kind of the odd man out (at least to start the season). I'm talking about the rotation being possibly this (assuming Pascal is Healthy)

Fred VanVleet / Goran Dragic
Gary Trent Jr. / Svi Mikhaluik
OG Anunoby / Yuta Watanabe
Pascal Siakam / Scottie Barnes
Khem Birch / Precious Achiwa

Lol nah it wasn't a good pass but Scottie's hands are just insanely big. A lot of other players wouldn't be able to hold on to that ball.

All the short players didn't look right on the court lol.

Maxey, FVV and Flynn were giving me FVV vs Sixers in title run year flashbacks.

Ya both him and Birch are centers but they will both really struggle with strong centers. They really lack the strength to body players around the paint and defend the post.

I understand both will provide great agility/speed to help offset that in the regular season. I think we should go after a 3rd center who can provide that look when we need it.

Ya i get it. Having a post defender from either your starter or backup is ideal.

That is why the Gasol/Ibaka duo was the perfect compliment. We have a poor man's Ibaka now and just need the poor man Gasol imo. Will still be fun to see Birch/Precious run circles around most centers even if they're not as skilled.
