Just read that Spurs are asking for a FRP and a replacement at C for Poeltl.

Here is a proposed 3 way deal with Mavs and Spurs:
To Raps: Poeltl and Trey Burke
To Mavs: Dragic
To Spurs: Powell, Raps FRP and Mavs 2RP

Mavs get Dragic who they have been after, and unload two contracts that will hurt them next year when they start paying Luca the supermax.

Is Powell enough of a replacement for Spurs?

My guess is they were offering something centered around Porzingis, but that's obviously an easy no.

Kemba + Noel for Dragic + Flynn

Could totally see Kemba revitalizing himself as a 6 man in our environment. Noel too. Would be cheap.

Both locked in next year at 9M each expiring.

Kemba/Noel just doesn't make sense for us though. Kemba isn't the player he once was and he's a horrible fit for what this team is trying to do. With the defense he's been playing this year he wouldn't see a single minute of playing time under Nurse.

And Noel doesn't move the needle there for us. He's no better than the bigs we have now. In fact he's worse.

As much as we need a backup PG, I can see Nurse using Fred and Kemba on the court at the same time. That would be an utter disaster so only for that reason, I say no to Kemba lol.

yes, there is nothing that interests me on this Mavs team.

I think Masai will listen if there is a massive offer for Pascal in the offseason but Dallas is the wrong trade partner obviously.

Porzingis is injured and overpaid, Brunson needs to get paid and THJ sucks.

Just like the Lakers have nothing to offer for GTJ.

While I don’t disagree, I trust our team to rehabilitate players like we always have.

We need a guard who can provide instant offence and handle the ball. Kemba literally averaged 19/5/4 last year even shooting 36% from 3 on 8 attempts a game.

I think he’d thrive here wirh this support system and a defined role where he can be a bench leader. Takes care of the ball. Good rebounder. Most of all can provide scoring which is what we need most.

Noel sure but he’s a good rim protecter.

I just don’t see us making a splash, again unless we get someone who can be a part of our future.

Kemba + Burks then. Would be the best scorers our bench has had all year. Wouldn’t cost much. Expiring next year. We’re not in a rush to win asap.

We turn chicken **** into chicken salad. That’s what our franchise is built on.

And yet Kemba was dealt for a 36 year old Al Horford and then bought out by OKC. We don't need instant offense off the bench. We got five guys in the starting lineup who can do that for you. Kemba isn't a fit here.

Noel isn't the answer either. He'd be below Birch, Boucher and Precious on the depth chart.

We can do a lot better.

Sure. If we can for the right price, I'm all for it. But frankly, I couldn't give a **** what other inept front offices do with their teams.

You literally said a week ago there was zero chance the Raptors could finish top 6 yet we're 0.5 games out of 6th and are tied for the 3rd most wins in 2022. Respectfully, you should be a bit more flexible and open minded instead of thinking you know the shot.

We've literally had the worst scoring bench in the league and have not a single consistent scorer or ball handler on our bench so I'm not sure what you think the priority is.

Despite Dallas’ interest in Siakam, it is unclear if the Raptors have plans to trade him away. The Mavs also have few trade pieces that they can use as bait.

Despite my interest in NBA trade rumours, it is unclear whether I have plans to read what this trash site/blogger has to say in the future. I also have zero F's to give about unsubstantiated clickbait.

Can you find where I said that? Ive actually been saying the opposite. So hopefully you have some proof.

So proof or an apology.

This seems to be the source of the Mavs/Siakam interest. It actually looks like a credible site, and has some other relevant tidbits:

https://www.actionnetwork.com/nba/nba-trade-deadline-rumors-intel-james-harden-ben-simmons-harrison-barnes-2022

The Toronto Raptors were being floated (again) as a potential suitor for Simmons, but the Raptors have made sure it’s known in league circles that they did not offer Pascal Siakam and OG Anunoby for Simmons. A Raptors deal for Simmons appears like an extremely remote possibility at this point.

The Phoenix Suns have taken calls from the Denver Nuggets, Detroit Pistons, Washington Wizards, San Antonio Spurs, and Toronto Raptors for young backup Jalen Smith.

With 4 days left, I think the buyers list is getting clearer. IMO Washington, Charlotte, Nets, Lakers, Cavs, Mavericks and Memphis are buyers who will want to shore up for the playoffs

I like that deal. But for the Spurs, they'll need our FRP rather than a 2nd, to part with Poeltl. No way Spurs take 2 2nds and Malachi for Poeltl.

Would love to have Jalen Smith, I think he's easily a good starting 5 in 1-2 years.

This is the first rumor I can actually believe. Might be a good acquisition for this team
