Ahh thanks for pointing that out, I guess it makes it a bit more comforting, but still a pretty underwhelming package imo. I can't see the Pelicans eager to toss many FRPs if any if with these prospects and a guy who fits OG's profile in Herb already.

Honestly i'd rather we just go embrace the tank and go:

With both the Lakers first rounders please

Lakers don't have any picks to trade.

Lakers do, but they're far out - 2027 and 2029.

I agree! OG has played half the season the last 2 years and missed the whole championship run while tearing his ACL before the draft. Not only will he never be an All-star, he's injury prone

Knowing his value is so much, I'd trade him for sure

You guys are missing the main issue: Cam Johnson had a meniscus trim surgery. That means bone on bone in his knee going forward. When a guy has an injury and surgery that often leads to future complications and shortened career then yes, people are going to bring it up.

Cam Johnson took the risky (possibly career shortening) surgical route because it was in his best interest to try and get back on the court this year. This might be the only really big contract he’ll ever get (he’ll be 27 in March).

Didn’t D Wade have this same issue before entering the nba? Still carved out a HOF career even with it…

And have you watched Cam Johnson play? He’s not a player that relies on athleticism like a Ja Morant or something.

Lol if OG wants out because of role/Usage he's gonna be in for a rude awakening when the Suns or Knicks or Pelicans want him standing in the corner all night lol

Yeah, I'd do that trade in a heartbeat if I'm Portland. Sharpe is so overrated.

Sharpe showed little in two Raptors matchups. You'd think a Canadian would show out for the home folks. May end up a showy dunker but not a player

It's one of the most bizarre love affairs I've seen on these boards in some time.

They have their '27 and '29.

I mean its been in the news the entire offseason/season.

Don't think we're in a position to wait 4-6 years, plus development years on top of that, to recoup assets for one of our better assets, and especially without any certainty where those picks will end up.

No thanks from POR.

You are obviously curious about OG as you are in this thread. Realistically...I can't see a trade with OG to Portland unless Sharpe is going out. Hart's salary makes it work.

I do like OG. I think he’s a fine player.

As I said earlier it will take more than OG to fix POR, and if he wants to go somewhere where he will get more shots it won’t be there.

Also not trading Sharpe (who has a chance to be a star) for the Cadillac of roleplayers in OG.

If POR were a real contender I might make that trade, but making that trade with this iteration of the Blazers is a big mistake.

That's why those stories have been vastly exaggerated and made up.

What's wrong with you people?

Even if OG is moved, it doesnt preclude Fred getting dumped.

Grow a pair and block out the media propaganda paid for by the short business savvy man.

If you're keeping Dame then maybe you should though.

I said 6 years ago, not 6 days.

So just like OG didn’t have an issue with his ACL after, it’s very possible that Johnson doesn’t have issue with his meniscus either and he’s shown he’s able to play just fine after it.

Johnson isn’t a player that relies on his athleticism anyway, his game isn’t about that.

That's one of the reasons I like him a lot, his attributes should age well.

Yeah but what does Dame want? He's the real deciding factor in this equation. Time marches on.

they are retradable assets. plus they free up raptors to trade own picks since they know they have future picks.

people on this board have to get out of the mindset that we are putting the finishing touches on a team. if we get cam johnson doesnt mean he will be here 3-4 years down the road. its all about maximizing returns at the moment.

That team isn’t winning anything without a radical transformation that is improbable at best.

Then trading Dame seems like the answer, which isn't happening. Feels like a get busy living, or get busy dying type of situation.

they negotiated the extension to keep him around.

Dude how long do you want to rebuild for... The goal is to rebuild quickly, not drag it out for 10 years. Picks that far down the road always have less value then more recent ones because a) you don't have an immediate asset that can help your roster and b) is too far away to gage whereabouts that pick will land.
