I think Nets are still trying to figure out if KD will stay. If he wants out i can see Masai going all in for him. If he signals hes staying for sure then i can see raps wanting claxton for Fred or OG

How about we demand KD in any trade from the Nets? What's the point of making them better so Durant stays?

This is exactly what is happening till the last hour. Raps and other seeing if Nets blink. If they dont then other trades may happen. If Raps feel KD will ask out in summer then raps only trade Fred out west. If they get a sense from KD’s camp he wont want to be a Raptor then they do a trade for Claxton. I am sure Raps talking with Durants reps to figure this out.

I'd much rather Claxton than Poeltl though. He's already better than Yak, much younger, and has another year on a cheap contract before he probably makes Poeltl extension money anyways.

Don’t have a problem with Masai going for guys like Cam or Bones. At the very least, they can fill the big black offensive hole of our bench.

Nah we wont paralyze anything. If KD is not traded at deadline, Fred gets shipped out west.

OG , Pascal and draft capital would be used to try for KD in summer if not they still have great value for any team missing out on KD during the summer.

Trade Fred because you can't let him walk for nothing. Try and add 1-2 asset for next year or future or both. A Suggs/Bamba deal gives the team added depth for next year at PG and C while you still have tge upside of what Suggs could be if he improves. At worst you have a very good defensive backup PG for the next few years. Bamba gives the Raps a 7 foot C who can at least hit some 3's so he stretches the floor a bit. And we buy 1 year for Koloko to hopefully improve.

Or

You try like hell to get one of those LA picks so you have it to add to a possible KD deal if it looks possible in the summer.

Yep, we're already just under the tax and FVV and Trent are looking for new deals. We will absolutely be a tax team next year unless there are significant moves made. Needless to say, the team as currently constructed is not worth it.

I'm going to be watching Masai very hard this deadline.

That's true, but last year he was more productive on offense and his defensive RAPTOR was closer to a bench scorer's negative. Workable. Neither have been the type of player the Raptors have gone for lately, but if they want to increase their shooting around Scottie, then Bones is the guy.
