The ending deal structure suggests this was Portland's preferred framework from the start. Dump the vets at same time is easier than individually.
Organization can be defined as an organized body of people with a particular purpose. Not random.

you really think Masai would try more picks then?

D+ offseason for me lol.

Uh a top 10 player would indeed change a lot and at the very least solidify them as a top 5 team in the East. Now they might be worst and give up a top 10 pick to the Spurs to do what exactly?

I agree we should've traded FVV. However, we could've beat this offer anyway. Bucks traded 1 FRP, 2 FRP swaps, and Jrue (a very good player but salary ballast in the context of this deal). If we offered the same package of picks + OG + Dick + salary ballast we would've beaten the Bucks offer.

Either we decided not to pay the Blazers' asking price or Dame chose not to come here.

Someone should tell Masai the reason why Portland is no longer taking his calls.

Also, for the guys asking why the Blazers would trade for Jrue, its obvious they're gonna look to flip him for some younger assets. Ayton is only 25 so fits with their timeline. They probably think Billups can get more out of him.

What?

Yeah I'm pretty sure the Raps could've got something for a guy who made the All-Star team the year before
in the prime of his career if they were pro-active and tried trading him the year before.

Masai is fuming right now.

Don't worry. Luka is going to demand a trade mid-season. That's the real prize.

Yeah and Masai will refuse to part ways with Precious and Koloko to get a potential deal done.

Masai would drive Scottie to the airport if Luka was available. He's reluctant to give up assets for 33 year-olds like Dame and KD, which is smart.

I want the FO to explain how they plan on retaining their assets or not letting them go to waste

Philly in the mix for Holiday is a smart move. They actually could also look scary with Holiday returning to where it all started (crazy).

Suddenly flipping Harden to the Clips ain't so bad.

This makes a lot of sense for Philly. Jrue is a stud, even if it's only for 2 years.

Besides, it eats into Philly's cap space next year and they can stay away from Pascal and OG.

Man if the Raps are pretty bad by the trade deadline, it’s going to look disastrous.

Offers for OG and Pascal will be Pennies and then the risk of them walking.

They better hope they somehow win at a playoff spot pace or they trade somebody right now.

If you have extra assets from a Fred trade it makes it easier to trade for Dame or any other star player
and still have some wiggle room to fix the rest of the roster.

No surprise, just like the Celtics the Bucks don't act like school teenagers. How many freaking trade rumours has Masai been involved in since the deadline?

Teams will soon stop answering the phone, why bother. Masai and Bobby just talk and then leak trade rumours (Raptors do leak) and then walk away when it is time to close a deal.

They are the laughing stock of the league and GM's will just stop taking them seriously, again nice work Masai

Wow, Dame sent to the Siberia of the NBA. At least he gets to play with a MVP candidate. But if it doesn't work, I bet he will be wishing it was 'at least' to Toronto instead.

So the Blazers are banking on Giannis leaving after Dame's contract ends....

Yeah more picks makes it risky. I think Torontos direction been clear, patience and growth, generally try to stay competitive and swing for big stars.

If we get our main guys (OG and Pascal) resigned there's no reason we can't just try to do the same thing in a year or 2 for the next disgruntled star.
