Man the big men are coming back in a big way. They will run this league for the next decade.

No idea why he wasn't drafted sooner either. All the analysts were on top of it. Saying he was probably the most intriguing prospect in the draft.

Most of us were high on him during draft time. Had him top 10.

Jalen Green man I just don't see it tho. Shooting the 3 well this year at 37% but that's all he does. Dreadful playmaker, worst defender, and is only hitting 40% of his 2s. I always thought him over Mobley was nuts at the time and looking back it feels even worst now. He got lots of Lavine comparisons but by year 3 Lavine was already a 57+ TS% guy and ignoring his posr ACL tear had been 56+ ever since. He really needs to start showing something or I think his ceiling might just be a 6th man.

He was drafted after Mitchell and Murray went back and forth having that epic playoff series. That 6'4 scoring guard was en vogue then and he fit the archetype. Any other year and he doesn't get near the hype.

We got really lucky that Houston fell in love with Jalen Green. Cavs already had Garland so they weren't going to pick him or Suggs. Scottie could have very likely went 3rd in that draft to the Cavs if Houston didn't take Green and we'd probably have Giddey on the roster right now.

Taking James Wiseman over him is a Bagley/Luka level mistake for the Warriors honestly.

He definitely improved and I think he's also benefiting from Rozier not being there.

The Spurs and Pistons are really bad. Both of them are already toast for the season, and I do know in the Pistons case that was NOT the plan.

Not sure why people thought Wemby could catapult them into the playoff conversation. It takes time, even if he ends up a generational player like everyone thinks.

Houston made the best pick of the draft but also drafted a player who looks like a bust. So it's probably a wash but it's definitely a wasted chance. Had they drafted Barnes or Mobley, their future would be looking great.

Green has some NBA skills that every team can use, so I don't think he's a bust. Just might not be all that impactful.

Using all the free metrics available for each of these at the moment:

Last Year

M.Smart -1.0bpm, +0.7rpm, +0.8lebron, +1.4raptor
G.Williams -1.1bpm, -3.2rpm, -0.7lebron, -1.3raptor

This Year

M.Smart -4.0bpm, -0.2epm, 0.4dpm
G.Williams -1.3bpm, -0.8epm, -0.4dpm

Career

M.Smart -0.3bpm
G.Williams -1.6bpm

1. What a joke it was to see the NBA media pretend that these decent (smart) and bad (williams) celtics were elite NBAers all these years, with Smart consistently ranked top-50 and Williams ranked top-100 on most lists.

2. How annoying is it that Brad Stevens was smart enough to upgrade from these two massively overrated assets to two underrated borderline elite players in Jrue and Kristaps? Damn i hate when the celtics make smart moves.

Porzingis will cool down. He's not this good. This is a good team, but they have a long history of choking in the playoffs and I wouldn't bet on Jrue or Porzingis being the difference there, either.

I wouldn't be worried about Porzingis cooling down if I was a Celtics fan. He really is in that perfect role as the 3rd/4th option and nothing he is doing is unsustainable. He's being spoonfed easy shots and attacking mismatches (like how he scored over Schroder 3 or 4 times against us) while he's actually shooting a bit below his career average behind the arc (.333 vs .358). What I'd be more worried about is his health/availability. If he misses more than a few games at a time, Boston might have to make a move to get another C/PF. Horford is too old and Kornet shouldn't be playing big minutes for a serious team.

Is he efficient? I saw the 4th quarter of a game where he was taking a lot of bad shots.

Not sure if this was posted previously, but I just came across this youtube channel and man does this guy have some interesting and insightful deep dives into the NBA game. His channel is more of a finance channel, but Michael played bball in the NCAA and overseas, so he knows what he's talking about. I wonder what the Raptors' stats on ball reversals look like now...

His true shooting percentage is 57% which is really good. Especially for how rusty he was in the first couple of games.
