So the guys we're specifically worried about are primarily going to be Quickley, Poeltl and Ingram. And RJ.

Ingram is probably going to play around 60 games, based on the past half-decade. We can generally assume that'll be the case, unless we're especially unlucky.

Barrett's hit or miss; he's played under 60 games 3 times (including the past 2 seasons), but played 70+ for three straight years prior to the trade season. But we can generally assume 65+ with him.

Poeltl's played under 60 for 2 years in a row, but was reasonably healthy from 18-23. So it isn't out of sorts to expect maybe 68 games or so.

Quickley played 33 games this year, the first time in his career he played less than 64 games. We can probably expect 70+ from him next year, unless we're unlucky.

In other words, there's a pretty good chance we'll have notably MORE heath next season than we enjoyed this year... and should remind ourselves that some of those missed games came from shutting it down in the latter third of the season, as opposed to absent health.

Scottie also played 60 and 65 games the last 2 seasons, and yeah, your entire starting lineup potentially missing 15-25 games per player is pretty bad. I would be pretty shocked if we had worse health, but we don't exactly have a team of ironmen.

What's the point here? I don't see the reasoning for a comparison to Charlotte.

It was brought up in the video the person referenced, Lowe put us in the same tier as CHA and I don't think it's as outlandish as some people like to believe.

And?

I didn't mention him for a reason; his presence is far less salient to our overall potential.

Ah. Well, it's dumb. Their injured guys are more injured than ours, plus their overall talent level is WAAAAAAY lower.

He's no more or less flawed than the rest of our roster, as well as being a pretty important part of the starting 5, so I'd say it's pretty important, and even if it isn't, like I said, 15-25 games from every starter is a massive amount of injuries.

He'll be what he'll be. He'll probably miss 15 games or so, if the past two years are any indication. Maybe less, if we appropriately throttle back on his scoring load and let him focus more on defense. He's also redundant, to a degree, with Ingram, so especially if their off times don't overlap too much, the impact of his loss is significantly less than with some of the other guys (at least on O).

Thing is, I don't think our defence can handle it. Either way, we are dancing on a knifes edge to be an ok team, hopefully we can find some way to pry Book away from PHO.

It probably can, as long as it doesn't come at the end of the season when we're jockeying for position. And you have to remember that we'll be better offensively, which will take SOME of the sting out of a spell of defensive regression.

It's not really the time for doomsaying yet. There's a LOT of off-season, and then still time until the trade deadline, plus the draft itself. We'll have to see what comes.
