AD makes $62 mil in 27/28
yak + rj would start at $70 mil that year.

to me, it comes down to how you value rj vs. AD the next 2 years because that's how long we have bi.

bi + scottie + cmb + AD the next 1.5 years is very tempting without sacrificing any real long term assets (again depending on how you view rj).

scottie + cmb + ad would be the best front court in the league imho. that creates a massive strength and more than a ton of teams would have. that can bully the magic, the cavs and the knicks.

you think RJ cost 42M/year?

If it’s AD for IQ/Jak why does Dallas have any interest in that deal?

Dallas already has Kyrie, Lively and Gafford. Why are they looking to add more overpaid PG’s and C’s?

I want nothing to do with AD... However I presume Dallas might consider an offer including 2 of IQ, RJ, Poeltl for the following reasons:

- younger players
- less injury prone over their careers
- not earning $60M for the next 2 seasons after this one.

To sum up, Dallas would be getting 2 younger players, who are less injury prone and combined earn what Davis is making.

Why would Dallas want to pair Kyrie with Quickley? Both are PG.

If Kyrie comes back healthy he’s clearly better than IQ. If he comes back and he’s not looking good then they are stuck paying $70m at PG over the next 2 years. Why would Dallas take that risk when we have no idea how Kyrie is going to look?

Could this be a landing destination for Jakob? We rid ourselves of that contract, Indy doesn't need him this season since they are tanking anyways. Mathurin gets the remainder of this season to prove it, otherwise we just let him walk

this is the kind of trade I could get behind. Definitely a buy low high-upside play. Is he a chucker? Sure. Does he pass the pass? Never on purpose. Is he talented? Undeniably

Acting like Poeltl has trade value right now is absolutely crazy.

What team would possibly want to take on an injured player that still has 4 years left on his contract?

Poeltl is unmovable until he can have a healthy stretch.

If the shoe were on the other foot and there was talk of us trading for a player in Poeltl’s situation people would lose their minds.

Yak won't pass a physical with any team that would trade for him....We are stuck with him until he shows he can play like 20 or so games in a row and look healthy doing so.

Jonathan Kuminga is one the few realistic ones I can see with out having to add anything

Problem is AD makes a **** tonne of money. JP and pick your poison, RJ or IQ is needed.

If it is IQ and Jak plus a first that is honestly not a bad deal. People are underestimating how impactful AD can be. I know people will say he constantly gets injured and that’s what people were saying about BI as well and wanted Bobby fired.

People honestly aren’t seeing how much adding an AD improves everyone else.

I’m not nuts about including RJ, but I am for acquiring a tier one two way player even though there are injury risks.

Also, he has incentive to get in top shape. This could be his last chance to get a nice extension.

I don't motivation to get in shape has ever been an issue for AD. The problem may well just be the way his body is built and it may not be built to handle high level physical activity. He keeps picking up injuries and it isn't because he is out of shape.

Yeah that could be the case. Didn't he show up heavy this year though? Doesn't that show a lack of discipline? Maybe he didn't care because the team is lottery bound. His injury list is quiet extensive though. Almost shockingly. That must take a toll.

I had the realgm trade checker open so checked. Poeltl for Mathurin and Jarace Walker works. Purtle rejoins his man Pascal and rests for next year. We get a couple of young guys on prove ems. Hmmm. I wonder how the Pacers view Mathurin and JW?

Why would the Warriors want him? He's a terrible fit with Draymond (and Jimmy, to some extent). That doesn't even touch on his health issues, which while they might not be serious why would any competent GM take that chance when he has 4 years left on his contract?

Explain to me why any GM would want to bet on Poeltl right now when he has 4 years left on his contract. Not Poeltl from last year. Not a theoretically healthy Poeltl 2 months from now. Today's Poeltl.

I don't know, why would any GM want to bet on AD "Street Clothes" who's older, has been way more injury prone throughout his career (currently injured), salary is double and is reported to be looking for an extension on top of the 2 more years at $60M/per he already has?

2 teams off the top of my head that would love Poeltl would be the Celtics and Warriors. Celtics have Simons 27M expiring contract theyll be dangling that can be used in a 3 way trade.

This is what all the other trainers in the NBA are thinking if their team trades for DaytoDavis.

I think the whole discussion is without merit.

Either Poeltl becomes healthy again and plays his old self -> no need for a trade.
or
Poeltl actually is cooked and no team will want him. (every team will ask for the medicals).

So bottom line, no trade will happen unless we unload him with a pick or another team gambles on him and both are unlikely.
