What happens to the future of this organization if Valanciunus is a bust?? What is the possibility percentage wise of him being a bust? I've watched a lot of his games and he has a decent skill set, I think the Under-19 Euro championships were an inaccurate portrayal of how good he is. He was playing against teenie boppers. I think he'll be a decent role player and will provide the same things that someone like Amir Johnson gives us with more length and a more polished finish around the net. However, I don't see him at all as a potential all-star or the future of this franchise. Of course none of us have seen him play yet so it's unfair to write him off until he gets used to the NBA but from watching today's pre-season game and looking at some of the things our team lacked and was strong in, I don't see anything special that Jonas would bring in regards to his game. He's a stringbean size wise and he'll contest shots, get rebounds, and finish at the net but i don't think our future is safe with him.

But as we all know it's a gamble.

Good one... Not surprised seeing as most here are debating the merits of El Matador and Bayless as our PG like it makes any difference at all. Enjoy mediocreball... I'm sure its all you know.

I'll say this about Jerryd Bayless: I think he can start at PG for us...BUT, we have to run the offence through Andrea Bargnani, or some other post option, and have Jerryd simply make a pass setting a post-up. That'll allow Jerryd to do what he does best: score the ball. But, we need to play Andrea closer to the basket, and have him initiate on the elbow, rather than at the 3pt line.

Or, we could give our ol' friend, Jonny Flynn a shot at it.

Dude is skinny but he can work on his body off season after year 1, like Ed he added 15+ pounds-off season...and it's not a big problem if he's not going to be all star or whatever, if he does what Noah does for bulls, then that's an upgrade at the C spot and you can tell we really need a good C ..like really really need one. Amir and Ed can't play C and y'all know about boardnani cmon.

You've been here for how long? dude you're here debating the merits of Ole Calderon and Jerryd Jayless...

When there is something to talk about, not lame ass discussions about players who are largely wack I'll be there. Until then I'll just sit here with my popcorn watching people like you embarrass yourself discussing the difference between Doo-doo and poo-poo

Well you're right. We do need a Center. a good one. I just think that there is a false perception out there that we stumbled upon the "White Dwight Howard" due to his athleticism and agility at the Center spot. I'd agree that if he transforms into an average offensive player (13-15ppg) and a solid defensive player (10+rpg, 1.5 bpg) then we'd be good moving forward.

I didn't see the game but based on last season I think I agree with you. I think Bayless can be effective if he brings the ball up and lets the offence run itself going through hands or (with the team right now) Bargnani makes decisions in the high post. Then Demar runs off screens, JJ in the corner etc etc which is what was effective last season. If the offence breaks down then Bayless can have the ball back and puts his head down and creates. I don't really like the idea of Bayless or Jose hanging onto the ball in the first 15-20 secs of the shot clock.

Jonny Flynn would be nice, but Goran Dragic is the guy we should really be inquiring about imo.

Wow what a surprise. Jose botches another play at the end of the game to lose it for us. What a great system PG we have I think every team could use a failure like that!
