I'm not trolling, sorry I don't share your opinion but Battier was a very reliable scorer at Duke. Ok, maybe a bit dramatic but I highly doubt he'll reach Deng levels and if thats the upside we hope to draft, I don't know what to say.

He's a system guy. Once again we'll have a wing that can't create. He's a nice player and an established team would love to have him but we have no talent so my apologies that I actually want players with upside. Barnes is what he is a good system guy. Hence, my Battier comparison

Battier was a reliable scorer in limited offensive skillset, he scores alot on jumpers, but barnes has a more advanced offensive arrensal. Deng's level pretty good in this draft considering there's no sure fire superstar potential outside of the ADs.

You're a troll, Battier doesn't have any offensive moves hes basically a jump shooter. Barnes is not un-athletic, he doesn't have the hops or quickness but doesn't mean he's not athletic in terms of getting to the hole with body control

Exactly. Barnes gets great elevation on his jumper, phenomenal balance/body control and is really quick off the floor when he gets into his shooting motion or for a one-handed dunk. Just because Barnes doesn't have insane hops and quickness doesn't mean he's not athletic.

He's good system guy which fits our half court system really well, he's also a wing who can create for himself with his off the dribble pull-up jumper, triple threat moves, pumpfake, , japstep, step back, etc, so I don't see how you can say he can't create.

Ya, you might be right? I just think people fall in love with names rather than look at body of work and potential at next level. College doesn't always dictate how a player will progress and I don't see a tonne of upside in Barnes. Lamb on the other hand could be a stud. I think there will be a handful of guys in the mid to late 1st that will have more impact than Barnes. Hope I'm wrong

We all look at the body of work and potential when we look at Barnes, his advanced offensive repertoire is highly praised, his potential won't be as high as others like Lamb or the ADs but he has a decent 20 point scorer potential, its just his average court vision and lack of handle that are criticized but most praise on his offensive skillset. So I don't know what you'r saying about falling in love with just names. I don't doubt Lamb cos he's a stud for sure. But the way you jump on Barnes for his comparison to Battier is just nonsense. They play an entirely different game and you also underrate his shot-creating ability too.

Nothing but net for Barnes.

Maybe, I guess we'll have to agree to disagree. All I see is a kid with an advanced skill set coming into college but has not really improved at the pace others coming into college have. People said the same thing about Marvin Williams when he came into the league and how his potential far out-weighed that of Battier, just for example, but because of lack of explosiveness, handle etc. he didn't succeed to expectations. I see many parallels with Barnes. I think he will be a very good pro but he won't be franchise type guy. He also will not use this extensive offensive repertoire that you see at the next level, won't be able to create against guys bigger and just as strong but also more explosive. He's a man playing with boys at this level but that won't be the case next year

Looks a lot more comfortable with the ball in his hands, and is looking to attack when he has it.

Yep, doesn't look like Barnes has any trouble putting the ball down on the floor tonight.

Aggressive take for the and one. Barnes with 12 free-throw attempts. Very nice.
