if he can guard the 3, i don't see how we can pass up on him.

is a pretty good team, If we can somehow get lamb as well we would be a nightmare on defence with our length.

I used to be off the Jones wagon, but am back on...
The more i think about it, the more i know the raptors need a home run player in these drafts to ever be good. its the only way the raptors are able to get A or B list talent in this city.
sounds like his work outs or going well, and hes been knocking down the 3 ball as well

P3santabarbara @Perry_Jones1 changing the light-bulb at P3! Perry is already touching over 12'4" during vertical jump testing- we expect Perry to touch higher than any other participant at the 2012 NBA Draft Combine starting June 6th!

I was just about to post the same thing. Wow.

I am trying to convince myself by looking at Rudy Gay's sophomore numbers at UCONN and comparing them to Perry Jones' sophomore Baylor stats that perhaps PJIII could play a similar role in the league. If he can guard SFs while scoring through jump shots primarily and occasionally dribbling a little bit... why can't he be a longer Rudy Gay with less ball handling?

I didn't like him as a PF prospect because of that motor but the more I see of stuff like this and the more I watch him square up and take shots the more I wonder why he couldn't play the 3... Obviously he wouldn't be the type of 3 that handles the ball often but if he can guard the position (and he might be able to with that length/athleticism) than what's the problem? He's even working on his 3 point shot.

I told myself I wouldn't fall for PJIII but it's pretty hard not to when you see some of the freakish things he's capable of doing.

This guy is my second pick after Lamb. If they come away with Lamb, Barnes or PJ3, I'll be happy.

Lamb & PJ3 both remind me of Rudy Gay type prospects.

I wasn't really interested in PJ3 initially (when I thought our pick would be higher), but now that we are picking 8th.......

I really think he's gone at 5 to Sac. His workouts will overcome game evidence for some GM and he'll go before we pick, same will happen with Drummond.
When will we just change the name of 25 of the 30 teams to the Washington Generals?

Please advise….

PS - That max vert reach of 12'4 is better than or similar to:

Shaq
Rudy Gay
Javale McGee
Dwight Howard

Yeah, PJ3 always had that jump out of the building type athleticism. I'm still waiting to see how he goes head-to-head against other SFs.
Basketball is like poetry in motion, cross the guy to the left, take him back to the right, he's fallin back, then just J right in his face. Then you look at him and say, "What?" - Jesus Shuttlesworth

Probably, unless TRob is there which might give them pause. But they might think that they can get him at 7 or 8, and trade down. Doubt Portland is interested but maybe GSW bites.

That's awesome. But what if he doesn't land on his feet? Looking forward to seeing Drummond's max vert.

He's ready to prove his worth. I really think he will dominate in work outs.

omg lol. Please B.C. My thing is we need a home run. If we strike out, we try again. But we need a great player. I say it's worth the risk. I for some strange reason believe in Dwayne Casey.

I'm astonished to see how many of you are blowing your loads over PJ3 leaping ability. PJ3 sucks. He has sucked for the past 2 years, nothing has changed since the last time you saw him, their is no rational reason to think his motor and intensity for the game are now at a competitive level.

Bust. I'm calling it right now. Bigger bust than Drummond. There is no reason to think he will be able to play the 3 in the NBA, no evidence to support it.

Draft Lamb, draft Sullinger, draft Lillard, draft Waiters. Stay the fack away from Perry Jones!
