Choker: I might be wrong, but if memeroy serves Ross didn't get to the line much during his college games too. Its just his style of play I guess, as Ross is a shooter. One of his signature moves at college was dribbling the ball into the paint, then suddenly stopped, caught the defender off guard, and took a jumpshot, instead for a layup.

driveshaft: Ross is not BC's pick. From what I heard during the 'Behind the Draft', since all 7 guys he wanted were gone, he said ,'Ross, Rivers, I don't care, you guys (Casey and Ed) choose.' Thank God we chose Ross instead of Rivers.

Now my question is, if Ross did bulk up over time, will that take away some of his quickness? I suspect part of his quickness advantage is due to light bodyweight..

That's why I'm not ready to proclaim him the starting SG so quickly yet. He'll be able to get inside shots from moving without the ball and getting sweet alley oops but in terms of relying on him to make something happen, I'm not holding my breathe for him to develop there.

BC is the one who calls the shots at the end of the day and is responsible for the draft pick. I guarantee you if Ross ends up being a failure no one will ever bring up the fact you just presented. Furthermore, BC has always said that he is a consensus builder, and that's a very important leadership strategy so I doubt any of his decisions including trades and draft picks have truly been BC's guys. People accuse BC of having an agenda, but ever since he brought in Casey all I've seen him do is find players that Casey wants. Casey wants defense so he upgrades Calderon by trading for Lowry, signs Landry Fields who apparently had all the defensive intangibles Casey wants in a player.

I know someone is going to throw Nash out there to disprove my point, but that also has to do with the politics of the sport. Was that a BC move or was he building consensus with the owners who see Nash as a cash cow? If I owned the Raptors I'd be forcing my GM to go full out for Nash too.

Thanks for the insights on his college game. I never got a chance to watch him in College, but I certainly hope he has a medium-high basketball IQ and some work ethic to overcome the limitations you stated.

Right now he's just oozing with potential. When I just saw those clips of his dunks I literally thought the same thing as Leo mentioned, it looks like he isn't even trying to dunk the ball he just somehow gets up there. He has a really nice shooting stroke as well. You can't teach athleticism and changing a player's shooting stroke is extremely difficult as you have to overcome muscle memory. Very few players have that combination... now if only he could develop some go-to moves, better dribbling, and start putting all the pieces together we might just have something special here.

I know right? Not everyone can put up 21pts on 12 shots like Bargnani. Maybe with some coddling and NBA experience he'll get there one day. :wink:

Any loss of "quickness" will be offset by the fact that other SF's won't be able to bump him off on drives.

I think if he could improve his conditioning he could also model his game after Richard Hamilton is probably skinnier than Ross. If he learns how to work off the ball and utilize his speed and screens he could be an effective scorer.

Man... Ross can be real good.... he can be reeeeealllll good.

I personally think he has the best form on the team as one of the youngest players. All he needs is confidence to consistently hit that J from deep. And I think.. if he and DeRozan were in a dunk off together... Ross would win.

He's so damn smooth and everything comes to him naturally... it's a beauty to watch. TRoss is def TDot Flight.

It's posters like you that put in all this effort that keep me coming back here. I love those last 3 dunks, he just completely out sprinted everyone down the court. Those last two dunks, it's like the defense just gave up trying to keep up with Donovan Bailey there.

Just some constructive feedback if you don't mind taking some. Since you had the opposing team feed there, it would be nice to have the clips extend a little longer after he scores just to hear what other analysts are saying about Ross. If it's just generic garbage leave it out, but every now and then you hear something unique and different from the typical Leo Ruatins mindless drivel, try considering including it.

Confidence is not an issue. What he needs most is consistent playing time

this team is not good enough to just give him sporadic minutes... 5 minutes one game, DNP-CD next game,..etc.
Develop him, at the very least sub him in early for McGuire.

More impressed that he was able to steer Harden for the most part. Didn't give him much off the dribble.

I lost some of the games in which Terrence had more PT, so I wanted to understand what you think about his passing abilities, from what I saw he doesn't really have great playmaking skills, but I would like to know your opinion.

Ross isn't a great playmaker, but other than some questionable jumpshots he won't do anything that's out of his capability. A lot of his turnovers thus far have just been silly mistakes rather than forced errors.
