Really ? You just couldn't resist, could you ??

Rumours has it that Jacob Poeltl is also African decent ! He just happened to be light skin!

Here's something else for you to chew on son:
Turn back the clock 10 years....if Bargnani wasn't from Italy would Colangelo pick him ? Or wait, you weren't born yet so you couldn't have asked that question ! Never mind!

Honestly, anyone with a brain could tell Skal wasn't a great prospect. Mock drafts are all based on hype.

Injury concerns, soft, rebounding issues, failing to produce against peers, low b-ball IQ, weak face up game, weak body/center of balance, foul prone, non-elite length/athleticism, no passing game, low steal rate, not young enough to be that raw

He literally needs to improve on every facet of his game. Raptor fans were hyping him up for no reason.

Best part is I already got a nick for him.Paskal Knock Em Siakim.

Nice. I was thinking something similar. Pascal "Rock Em" Siakam. Y'all remember the Rock'em Sock'em robots??

Yeah. I was think the Don Cherry hockey hits tapes but I was wrong that is also Rock em Sock em. So, Rock em Siakam it is.

His measurements and productions are pretty crazy for someone who hasn't played ball for very long. I'm intrigued!

For a team that seems to embrace analytics when it comes to the draft, its weird that Demar is still allowed to get away with his sky high usage and mediocre efficiency.

He looks great. Biyombo with offensive touch. His rebounding and shot blocking should transfer over pretty easily, and he shows a lot of potential on the offensive end too. Dunks everything but also shows good touch.

I initially had the "huh?" reaction but I have a good feeling about this pick.

Have there been any other players who played for a small college program , that actually turned out to be good ? I'd love to get a list.

He looks like dieng ( wolves ) with a hint of amare stoudamire /Biyombo

Take any efficiency stats with a major grain of salt. Not that I like or don't like the pick. The only thing I don't like is my scouting ability. But I do know his efficiency numbers which look great, are significantly skewed.

He averaged 22 points in two games against New Mexico. He had 17 points, 10 rebounds and three blocks at Wichita State, and he went for 26 points and 10 boards against Baylor, who started projected first-rounder Taurean Prince at power forward and had one of the best front lines in college basketball.

I am not trying to criticize him, just saying the 2nd highest PER in the draft has to be digested with care. The sample of games against good teams last year is 2 - Baylor and St. Mary's. In those games he he played pretty well, but not quite as efficient as the rest of the games. Hence my point - His relative PER at #2 is inflated by the SOS.

Hardly giving up on the guy because he plays in a small school conference. HE still has to be very good to be #2 ranked. But if you are trying to dispute the significant impact of a #277 out of 350 SOS on an inefficiency stat I am not sure what else to say.

With players that play in these conferences it's more about eye test than pure stats, and I trust Masai far more than me or anybody else on this board in this regard.

By the way, a nit pick here, but New Mexico was not a good team last year.
