Love pascal both as a player and as a person, but the second he returns to the lineup, Scottie is gonna move down the pecking order. The growth we’ve seen from Scottie throughout just 6 games is phenomenal and I’d much rather let Scottie play as much as possible and make plays

The current version Pascal has the ball in his hands more than when Lowry was here - taking away Scottie's opportunities to ball handle and initiate. And Pascal is going to take more shots away.

I bet Scottie's numbers drop as soon as Pascal comes back.

It's going to be a bummer lol. I love Pascal but I also love seeing Barnes have this freedom.

Pascal does so much of what Barnes brings to the table so I already know Barnes stats and usage are about to fall off a cliff lol. Gonna put up Pat Williams numbers.

Hopefully Barnes becomes way more assertive instead of falling in line when Pascal gets back.

Yep exactly my concern

I love Barnes but this is bad use of stats. One point in today's NBA is not the same as one point back in the 90s or 2000's, due to all the rule changes over the years causing points inflation.

this roster is tailor made for pascal. the defense and easy baskets that's gonna be created is gonna be nuts. scottie may become more efficient. there may be more leak outs and transition points. scottie's assist #'s may go up. we may win more games while scottie still plays. we are still trying to win and develop. i think our franchise has proven that it knows what's it's doing. trust them. the player's mins that will dip is achiuwa's.

Masai is probably going to trade him if that is the case. Plus who is going to the bench anyway? Precious and playing without Center? All doesn't make much sense.

In terms of half court yeah. Him with a running start is a different story.

His usage might decline a bit (along with OG and VV), but Siakam demands a double so he will have more space to operate, which is always a good thing.

Nurse loves Barnes so he's going to get his minutes and touches.

The more we see Barnes hitting that midrange J consistently, the more I think that Pascal wouldn't be eating into Scottie's minutes. Seeing Scottie pick up Bamba through out the night makes me think it's actually Birch and Precious that will lose more minutes.

As mentioned above, Pascal makes Scottie's life easier and vice versa. Both will be an offensive and play making threat on the court. Their chemistry will take time to build but if our play making and facilitating primarily goes through Siakam, Scottie, and a bit of Freddy, having Trent and OG on the wing to compliment the 3 will be a problem for the league.

David Thorpe addressed this, and he basically said Scottie will improve once pascal comes back.

- he’s more tired in the 4th quarter, as he is guarding the best guy on the other team. Pascal will help him take less load on both ends
- as some of the posters said, pascal is hard to guard one on one. So more off ball action for Scottie leading to easy points.
- also prescious getting a ton of run, hopefully pascal eats up his minutes leading to more rebounds for Scottie.

The most shocking part of his game so far is his silky smooth midrange game. His form looks a little awkward but it works. Rolling off screens or pulling up, he's knocking them down. And because he's so big with a high release, his shot won't ever get blocked.

That’s valid and all, but in case you didn’t notice, there aren’t many recent players on this list.

Return to Toronto Raptors
