Only trade that I've seen that I really like is Fred to the Pelicans for Dyson Daniels, Murphy, Graham and the Lakers pick. Could also expand that deal to include McCollum and Pascal.

We would be lucky to get one of Daniel's or the Lakers pick. Can't be greedy and say both lol

I just really want that Lakers pick. Can always reroute CJ elsewhere.

I don't think Zion has a big window to win. Is CJ, Ingram and Zion a championship 3 because I think Fred, Ingram, Pascal and Zion is a championship 4.

Exactly. Realistically we aren't getting either for an expiring Fred that's playing at this level lol.

one of (lakers picks/dd/murphy)
one project player (jackson hayes/kira lewis)
salary filler (Devonte graham)

is a package for fvv in my opinion. and that is if fvv improves his game play for the next month.

The counter argument that has been made in this thread is that Graham isn't an expiring, he's a bad contract. That by itself is worth a significant inducement to take on. Then, assuming Fred plays well for the next month, what is his worth in the abstract? Just the Lakers pick or DD or Murphy plus a project player? I would have thought an all-star/champion would be worth more.

Is his agent allowed to hint to the Pels that he would re-sign with them?

Devonte has 2.5 years left. But last year is just 2.8$ mil guaranteed.

So it's more or less 1.5 year left and it's just $12 mil next season. He isn't a severe negative asset.

Pelicans don't meed FVV at all. Also who's coming off the bench for the Pelicans if he was traded? CJ shouldn't, and FVV won't.

I agree, I totally see a star in Daniel, pretty sure that the FO thought the same during the draft process and was probably trying to get another pick to nab him.

They need playoff tested playmaking, ball handling. I'm sure if they got FVV he would instantly soak up the minutes that the rookies were playing and manage the pick and roll with CJ giving them more options on offense and getting more consistency on defense.

They would probably both start, then one sits early and then the other runs with the 2nd unit, we did the same thing when we had Lowry and won a chip doing so. there's actually a lot of similarities between the 2019 Raptors and the 2023 Pelicans now that I think of it.

Ya that's why there's zero chance we getting dyson

Fvv and cj is a small backcourt

Pelicans would want og. It depends if they giving laker picks plus dyson

Read on Reddit that OG most likely destination if leaving Toronto is NYK. Which means it has to be a fleece if true.

Rose + Quickly
+ NYK 1st 2023 UNP
+ DAL 1st 2023 (Top 10 protected. Could be real juicy if it lands from 12-18)
+ NYK 1st 2025 UNP
+ MIL 1st 2025 (Top 4 Protected)

Would NYK empty the treasure chest they were saving for Mitchell on a player like OG?

They definitely should, he's worth it. Ask Donovan Mitchell.

That might be a bit premature, he's a big guard who can't shoot, like a smaller Simmons. Obviously not saying that who his game mirrors, but his shot needs a lot of work before I'd put "future star" tag on him.
