Does soon to be 30 yr old free agent Pascal Siakam, have all that much value?

I mean why wouldn't they trade Sharpe if they're offering up a top 3 or perhaps top 2 valued player in the nba draft? It doesn't seem like that much of a leap to me.

Re: Hollinger: League wide speculation that POR will trade Simons + #3 for “elite forward”
I posted this in another thread but no one said anything about it. My thinking is Portland doesn’t trade #3 & Simons for OG and Toronto doesn’t trade Siakam for #3 & Simons. To get Portland to part with #3, Sharpe, and Simons they need to get multiple players in return to fill out their roster. To make that happen you’d need to bring in multiple teams and in particular one that wants/needs Simons.
It becomes increasing difficult to make a trade with more teams...but they happen. I could see something working with Portland, Toronto, Golden State, and Orlando.
Toronto: Poole, Sharpe, #3
Portland: Siakam, WCJr, Cole Anthony
Golden State: Nurkic, OPJr, Flynn
Magic: Simons
Why Toronto: PG to replace Fred, Sharpe and Miller add shooting and scoring.
Why Portland: They add an all-star talent, a solid C who can stretch the floor, and a 6th man scorer. They resign Grant and they have a 30, 25, 20, and 15 ppg scorers in starting lineup. Resign Thybulle to start at SG, won't need to worry about his offense other than catch and shoot 3s. Then have Little & Reddish for wing reserves and Eubanks & Watford bigs off the bench. They can use 23 to add more depth or further trades plus they will have their MLE and TE to add another rotational player.
Why Golden State: Get off Poole contract and start to fix the locker room. Add needed depth and a large body in the mold of Zaza and Bogut which they have been lacking. With Draymond and Looney, Nurkic won't be relied on for big minutes and maybe he can actually get through a season. I read that OPJr acted as a connector between youth and vets on GSW. They can get him back plus he knows the team. Flynn is to add a 3rd string PG. They can use 19th to get a guy like Sasser.
Why Magic: They need a PG and Simons is an elite catch and shoot threat. Big advantage of Paolo is his size and ability to handle the ball. Don't want a PG that is going to diminish that. They can use cap space to go after Naz Reid and draft Lively to solidify their bigs.

With an agreed upon extension in place post July 1st, I’d say yes.

Because you just said it in the sentence you wrote....They are offering up top 3 or perhaps top 2 valued player in the NBA draft so why in the world do they have to give up a good prospect and a top 7 pick last year in Sharpe on top of that? ....Think for a minute from the Blazers POV and not a homers POV and you will understand why they do not have to add a player they are high on in a deal where they are already giving up alot of value....
The reason Simons is being shopped is to open up playing time and a spot for Sharpe as the starting SG on their team....

He just turned 29. He is in his prime with at least 5 more years left in his prime. And he can sign an extension...so with that he is still very valuable.

That's something I'd definitely consider.
Maybe you can get them to give up Sharpe + #6 + #11 for OG + #13
Sharpe + #6 + #11 for OG + #13
I'd do that. Much as I love OG, he is a win now player, and this isn't a win now team. We need to start the rebuild with this draft.

Keep OG at all costs. He's the perfect fit for any iteration of this team moving forward.
Get Siakam tf out of here lol.

If Bridges is off the table as reported, I think POR ultimately decides to keep the pick and they say to Dame we tried our best nothing out there. Masai is going to hold onto to OG / Siakam unless he gets a fat package. The only way I could see Masai moving Siakam is if they offer BOTH #3 and Sharpe. That's a steep price but we all know that's what he's going to ask and if he doesnt get it he will move on

Re: Hollinger: League wide speculation that POR will trade Simons + #3 for “elite forward”
Its either going to be SIakam + Fillers for the pick or Siakam + OG for a bigger package.....OG alone is not getting us the 3rd pick...Couldn't even get us the 7th pick last year....
As good as OG is i think he has to be moved by us this offseason cause i honestly feel he already has his mind made up and he will be out the door next year....I think he secretly wants to go to a bigger market and a competing team...
I think if we do not move him this offseason next year hes going to decline his player option and leave for nothing...Just a gut feeling but i feel he wants out.

Not badddd. Raptors get the short end of the stick but still a reasonable trade.
In Masai We Trust

The expectation is that Masai isn't a big enough idiot to take on Simons in a deal and that if he does he demands a lot in return. It would be in Portland's best interest to involve a 3rd team that sees some kind of value in a 26 million a year mini SG who's one of the worst defenders and rebounders in the league whose 3 point shot got worse with higher volume against starting lineups.

Well done, this actually makes sense for all teams. Personally if I was Portland I'd just take Siakam but with the name recognition and Dame's preferences I can see them opting for PG instead.

Just cause thats what you want doesn't mean the Blazers want that....If The Raptors want the top 3 pick (Which is already really valuable) than you have to understand Blazers are moving Simons who is still a good player...Even if you do not like him when Dame was out he had multiple 30+ 40+ point games ....They clearly are moving Simons + the pick to open up a SG starting spot for Sharpe...So thinking Sharpe will be added in any deal is not logical.
