Him or Maluach are my hopes for the Raps at 9, but I’m thinking there’s a good chance they’re both off the board by then

Same, but I'm not convinced both of them will be picked ahead of us.

Maluach could be picked by Philadelphia, Charlotte, or Washington, but I think the Sixers rank Edgecombe, Bailey, and Knueppel ahead of him, the Hornets would prefer Edgecombe, Knueppel or Johnson and Washington would rather choose a guard/wing at #6 (Fears, Johnson, Knueppel, Jaku, Demin) since they can pick up a big at #18 (Beringer, Sorber, Wolf, Raynaud, Kalkbrenner).

Essengue could be picked by Utah, Washington, New Orleans, or Brooklyn, but I think the Jazz rank Knueppel, Edgecombe, and Johnson ahead of him, the Wizards would still prefer the guards mentioned above, the Pelicans would rather get Fears, Knueppel, Johnson, or Bailey if he falls, and the Nets would go the same route as Washington (guard/wing at #8 and a forward/big at #19).
Raptors record prediction: 45-37 (6th place in the East)

Essengue is playing better lately, but being 203 lbs and 6'10 is not inspiring. He doesn't have a bag like Brandon Ingram, so if he is scoring off cuts and others creating for him, it will be tough to finish in the NBA. He is kind of like Chris Boucher size/weight wise.

Effort gets you far, but Noa is going to get thrown around like a ragdoll in the NBA if he isn't at least 220 lbs. Beringer who is also 18 like Noa and measured at 234 lbs which is more inline with NBA standards for his position. Noa has a SG weight.

I think if Essengue goes before 9, the Wizards & Nets are the most likely spots.

I like what the new Wizards front office has been doing, and they’ve been placing a real premium on length/defense. Essengue fits so well with their core and gives them young, lengthy, plus defenders at every position

If you view Essengue as a centre I agree with you, but 203 pounds isn’t a dealbreaker for an 18-year old forward.

He’s 6 years younger and 20 pounds heavier than Boucher was on draft night, so I’m not too worried about that as an outcome. No reason to expect he won’t be able to get to 220+ in his first couple years

Is Essengue a slightly taller Obi Toppin? A smaller Derrick Lively? He looks like he’ll be more of an energy / put back guy and has suspect handles.

Not draft news but this asking price is a little steep for us it would be like Yak, Walter or Dick, And 2 future firsts.

As it should be. He put up 21,5,4,1,0.5 at 24 years old and is locked into a value contract. This is the type of return we should have been trying to get for OG.

I think Jerry Lucas mentioned that neither produced like Masai draft picks( unsure on Queen), but Queen also is so anti Masai like in his defense (switchability or rim protection)I can't see either one being picked.

Queen produced like a Masai-type and Maluach didn't.

My view is it's like 2016 when Masai chose Jakob Poeltl over Domantas Sabonis. There was a lot of debate on here which one would be the better pro and Masai focused on size and physicals over skill as he always does. In this draft, Maluach is the Poeltl type and Queen is the Sabonis type.

So you’re saying we should draft Queen this time around.

1. They likely won't get that return, it's just what they're starting the negotiations with
2. Murphy is about to start his RFA contract with 4 years of control, OG was going to be an UFA (even if they traded him a season earlier) and everyone knew how much he wanted
3. OG hired the son of the Knicks POBO because he wanted to go to the Knicks - everyone knew this

6'10" barefoot for Noa is insane.

Locks up a top 10 pick imo.

Hide what players they are really interested in. Raptors were really open about what players they worked out, but it's recent trend with raptors and most of teams to hold back details now. Only Portland seems to be open about who they work out and such.

One benefit to that is he’ll go flying any time he receives a bump. Would benefit from a team where whistles are called fairly.

Ya, Clowney shot 65% FT in college, but shot 83% this past season and 33% from 3.

I think that Carter Bryant is more like Jalen Johnson that shoots the 3 better. He's 1 inch shorter but has more hops. I guess Bryant is a SF that can guard 1-4, while Jalen Johnson is a SF/PF that can guard 2-4.

Jalen is 10x the ball handler and playmaker that Carter is imo
