the player i'd want most from houston is lowry

bosh for lowry, hill and ariza would work for me i dunno how the money adds up but that'd give us two strong defenders and a guy with some upside
Sam wasn't the solution, but he wasn't the problem either

Yao Ming with half a leg can do more for this franchise at the ticket gates and international market than a healthy Brooks and Scola.

are you getting a piece of the pot? I'd rather build a better team, not a more marketable one.[/quote

I'm talking from an owners perspective homey you don't own the team so your opinion means jack to the owners. You think MLSE will reject a 1 legged Yao Ming  Yao could invitably lose all functions of his extremities and never play again but he will be gold to Tanenbaum and co. in the community, you can take that to the bank, Yao = mucho dollars

The point is maximizing value and return for Bosh, why settle for less if the team can get someone like Yao? People throwing names like Scola, Brooks, Jeffries, Hill and first rounders have no idea how transactions are made in the NBA. You think Tanenbaum and MLSE will instruct Colangelo to get these guys at the expense of Yao? not a chance they will ask Colangelo to trade for Yao, it starts with Yao and if that is not possible from Houston's side then they will explore other options, is that hard for anyone here to understand :noway:. Remember the Raps hold the trump card in this trade they can play hardball with Houston, explore other alternatives or even let Bosh walk for nothing.

I'm sure he'll make note of these rumors, and tell Bosh about them. Bosh can then start thinking about, or envisioning himself as a Houston Rocket, and then make a calculated decision from there.

You think Bosh's agent isn't the one floating most of these scenario's around to help facilitate an S&T that works for all parties involved?

I want NO part of Scola, he's 30 and has no future with us. Go for young pieces, and Battier for the defensive locker-room presence, and another exp piece.

First of all, for the people suggesting we get Brooks, it wont happen. Bosh would not sign with Houston if they dont have a legit starting point guard, and Brooks is an above average one, who is needed for Houston to be able to compete for a championship. Same goes with Yao. Without him Houston isn't a championship calibre team and Bosh wouldnt sign there.

Also I personally think getting Yao is a waste. One, I dont think he is talented enough to build a team around, and two, he is fragile, and like Bynum, would not be able to play in enough regular season games to make the raps anything more than a mediocre team. He is overpaid for this reason IMO.

I doubt yao is even on the table, just forget about it, houston has a lot of pieces and picks.

Screw Yao. He is 30 and injury prone. If the Raps get him all he will do is eat up our cap space. If the Raps trade Bosh they will need a few years to build a competitive team (which they would need if he stayed as well) and Yao simply does not have enough years left in him to make that possible.

Yeah we in these messageboards can forget about Yao's availability (MLSE doesn't a give damn about a few focus groups in here or what we think for that matter) but the bottomline remains as Yao will be the first piece that will be ask to come in return for a signed Chris Bosh. MLSE is about the bottomline and Yao will reap that bottomline not Scola, Brooks, Hill, Battier or any draft pick Houston can offer.

There are always a few people that take the rumor threads too far.

With the Bulls it was Noah...
With the Thunder it was Green and Westbrook....

Now it is Yao and Brooks?

I'm shocked that the Bynum thread didn't include a "Kobe or GTFO" post...

yao is not being traded, and MLSE won't be able to reap the bottomline when Yao is out half the year

I think if Kobe came to Toronto, Cynic would have an orgy with BC, Bargs and MG!

Um...Yao will never be traded. Ever. His value isn't just on the court, he makes a ridicules amount of money for the HOU franchise because of the China connection. Yao is not leaving HOU unless he demands out and leaves himself, leaving 30 mill on the table. I doubt BC evens asks for Yao.

This is all speculative, Yao could be on braces for the entire season but he can do so much wonders in the community and his presence alone will signify a full house @ the ACC. The merchandising and marketing value of Yao is enormous given the huge Chinese presence in the GTA. That's the bottomline bro, whether you like or not.

If Bosh goes to Houston, he will be starting for the West ASG as long as Yao is on the team (look at Chinese Mcgrady votes last year)

He will ask for Yao, I'll put my house, mortgage and life savings on it, bro. MLSE will make sure BC gets it's message, BC is a spokesman for the company nothing more.

+1, Air Bud is awesome, and signed to a super-cheap 4 year deal. Was pretty much a rockstar pickup by Morey.

Why would he ask a question he already knows the answer to. No good can come of asking for Yao. If anything it will impact the trade with Houston negatively, and they might offer us less return.
