We really need to play Fields over Salmons in game 2. Not only does Fields give us just as much, if not more, on the defensive end, but he also will be a good slasher, passer, and rebounder. Salmons really doesn't provide us with anything on the offensive end. With Fields, you get what Salmons gives you and then some.

I expect Demar and Ross to show up and JV/Lowry/Patterson continuing their play from the last game. We should win this game.

Stop this, Fields ain't playing. He's out of favour with the coaching staff and has been for a while. Dude is just cashing them checks.

It's one game for the season.

Let's face it. We ain't winning if we drop both home games.

I don't care for "experience" of the playoffs. Getting swept is embarrassing. Especially with home court. I sure hope DeFrozen and Ross show up. Also, if Casey really is a good coach then he better make adjustments so our interior defense is better.

Prediction : Raps lose 97-91

The problem with the Nets winning the first game is they have all the momentum. We can make all the adjustments we want, but the Nets didn't have a good game either and will most definitely be adjusting too. It' will be interesting how much the Nets do end up changing their game plan. That's the major problem with having a coach like Casey, someone who relies heavily on his pre-game plan and lacks good in-game adjustments. He tries to stick to his guns too much and it usually ends up hurting the team.

I hated when people were pointing to Casey's playoff "coaching" experience, because that team was still very much Carlisle's team. Plus, they had Dirk playing out of his mind to win, and we have no one even near the player that Dirk is/was. He's just not a great in-game coach, and that hasn't changed at all over the past couple seasons.

demar is an allstar and a supposed cornerstone of our core. ross is a second year player on a rookie contract who hasn't even entered his prime yet.
tbh, i think if those refs hadn't been calling touch fouls on him all day, we would've won that game.
remember the run nets went on in the 1st quarter after ross left the game and salmons came in.
in the fourth, we were making good defensive stops, and after ross left with his fourth foul, we lost momentum again.
ross presence and absence had more of an impact than demar did. and that's just sad.

Wow this post.

First you say that Ross's importance shouldn't have been a factor compared to DeMar's, then you go on talking about how not having Ross on the floor hurt us. Well duh!!!!! The fact is that every player on this team is important since each player helps another teammate on the floor. DeMar's presence helps Ross get better looks, and Ross's floor spacing opens the lane up more for drives. DeMar isn't LeBron who can do everything on the court. He's a not a bonifide superstar player, but he's one of our scoring source. And asking a player who's a good secondary scorer to be the primary scorer is a tall task in of itself because of the defensive attention only gets higher. We all knew coming in the the Nets primary focus would be DeMar because he's our leading scorer. He had an awful game, but we all expected that to happen in his first playoff game. Going after a player who you expected to have a bad Game 1 playoff debut is completely asinine.

my post is in response to posters like yourself who attacked ross in response to someone criticizing demar as if the expectations are that somehow a second year player who's not in his prime should be held equally accountable as our supposed vaunted all-star.
and yes, demar needs ross and the rest of the starting lineup more than they need him. as good as demar has been this season, he doesn't make his teammates better. we saw this a lot towards the end of the season when demar would be put in with our bench lineup in the second quarter and our team still wouldnt play better. ross and val are a bigger part of our future than demar is.

Didn't see the ESPN footage, and the TSN footage had horrible angles. My bad.

It's asinine to think it's one players sole fault for why we lost the game. Amir did not play like Amir hurt us, Ross's foul trouble hurt us, Jonas and Lowry's combined 11 turnovers hurt, the total 19 turnovers hurt us, DeMar getting rushed and constantly doubled hurt us. It's more then just 1 ****ing player, the team did not play well it's as simple as that and it's the reason why I've defended DeMar as much as I have. Because pinning everything on him is just ridiculous.

Pacers and Bulls have been through this before. Them losing game 1 at home is different than the Raptors losing theirs. The Raptors are a bunch of newbies made from fools gold.
