Your best bet is going after Dipo. So anyone trying to manufacture trade should best do it from him. Depressed a value for a former high end half court scorer

One of the best creators in the league, MVP level player 31 and on contract until 23.

Id consider trading Pascal for him, and a potential Giannis team up could be big although maybe there's beef there

Will cost a combo of Anunoby and Siakam plus a pick of two. I think Houston probably asks Toronto to take back a bad deal like Gordon

2 firsts, Norm, TD and filler? I doubt they want a sign and trade for FVV.

Not even close for Beal, look I love TD and Norm considering what they bring but c'mon Beal is an all-star who is considered to be a potential top 20-30 player in the league

convert Watson and Brissett to full time
Kyle off the bench

Fred/Kyle
Dipo/Thomas/TD
OG/Watson/Brissy
PAscal/Milsap
Gasol/Plumlee/Dewan

If Toronto does any of this then Masai probably wins the off season. Your not getting Plumlee and Millsap for veteran minimum deals. I think Marc probably gets a few MLE offers from either LA team Portland or I could see Miami as a dark horse. To get Dipo for this offer it's a pipedream Stanley Johnson is a bad deal, Powell is okay but the rest is nothing to help them. This is highway robbery

Now that I think about it... Tristan Thompson is another guy that would've come in handy against the Celtics. I can see why Raptors were rumored to have interest in him around the trade deadline.

I think we may have to take the gamble with Dipo. If we're really pitching for Giannis, we need to upgrade to roster to entice him. A 35 year old Lowry and an undersized FVV is not going to cut it. After all, Dipo is Nigerian and Giannis seems to love playing with other African players (all-star draft). Other possible guards we can trade for:

Lavine
Hield
CJ
Holiday

Lavine is lowkey a player whose highly slept on. I feel like he's the type of player to knock down big shots and doesn't shy away from the moment...which this team needs badly right now. His defense is bad, but overall his stats are pretty damn good, much better than I expected and he's only 25.

26/5/4 on 45/38/80
57 TS%

I think Nurse could potentially turn him around defensively and get him to buy into our system

Oladipo is a fraud and is injury prone.

I have TT penciled in as a potential vet to bring in if we lose either or both Marc and Serge. He made his money in Cleveland, and probably won't be getting a big contract again. Its possible he can take a one year deal (or small contract ) to come home and play. I don't see anyone offering TT much money anyways.

Trades are hard to formulate (thats why Bobby and Masai get paid the big bucks). I think we will have to give up Lowry to get someone like Dipo, but since I am not sure the Pacers want Lowry (who knows), we may have to do 3-4 team trade. I do believe Dipo is available; just a matter of how much, and whether he wants to stay here (or if he really wants to go to Miami).

If Plumlee is leaving DEN (probable), it's probably NOT to be a backup and NOT for vet minimum. He'd more than likely just stay in DEN if those were his best options.

I'd rather have Norm and his contract.
Also let TD develop into our future SG.

This team needs another shot creator, preferably at the 2-4 positions or a post up big who can get buckets against smaller lineups.

I am not even kidding OG is untouchable. This kid has shown enough during his time year that he is ready for big moments. Invest in his development heavily please

I said this about Donovan Mitchell, but Mitchell hasn't gotten hurt and lost his development.

Sabonis and Gobert are why their teams win.

Yes, even before the shot he's the most valuable asset.

No trade proposals should be allowed to include OG. :D

Seriously he is so worth it. He just isn't afraid.

ALso Psubs I need some centre options because Marc and Serge arent coming back. We gotta figure out who to sign

Favours would be my choice, smart, mobile and can rebound.

Shooting is an issue though, probably have to compensate with more small ball next season

Favours probably gets the bag. I am thinking Baynes or take a flier on Giles as your backup. I like these guys for the 4/5:

- Giles
- Nerlens Noel
- Plumlee
- Milsapp
- Baynes
- Vonleh
- Jahlil Okafor
- Willy Hernangomez
- Favours
- Thompson
- Myers Leonard

Who is realistic to add at MLE and Vet mins type salaries?

To me if Nick wants to play the swarming kind of defense he likes then you are probably thinking Noel, Baynes, Plumlee, Milsap, VOnleh, Favours?

It gets real tough

Rather just keep Marc than sign Baynes tbh Milsap low key looks more washed than Marc does

I don’t think Favors will get big money since he stunk it up in the bubble. (Or any more than those guys)

Also interesting is Tristian Thompson, seems to be working on expanding his jumper lately. (9/23) from 3 this season.

Probably not real though considering his career numbers at the line.

Giles i think can stretch the floor offensively eventually but he’s too far away defensively to start on a good team for now.

But unless we bring back Marc/Serge (or looks like even with those 2 now tbh), probably not gonna have a starter level stretch 5 next season so signing players to fit around small ball is the move imo

Might have to throw an offer sheet at Boucher then. Seriously what else do we have? Any chance we can grab Crowder or Derick Jones Jr lmao? I doubt it. Crowder potentially at the MLE

Its not ideal lol

Heres a quick crack at it

Resign Fred.

Trade Norm + 29+59 for 15 + 45 from Orlando

Draft (Maledon or Maxey) at 15 and Tillman/Reed/Nnaji/Bey at 45

Offer Giles the Stanley johnson contract,

Sign Favors/TT/Noel as MLE starter

Offer Marc 1 year min (in case we run into Embiid pretty much lol)

Sign MKG for 1 year min

Lineups

Starters
Fred/Lowry/OG/PS/Favors

Bench
Maledon/Davis/Matt Thomas/ MKG/ Gasol

Depth
Giles/Tillman/Dewan/Stanley

Small Ball closers

Fred/Lowry/[ Maledon, MKG, Matt Thomas, Davis] (depending on matchup or whoever's hot)/ OG/Siakam

Keeping an eye on Giannis im not tryna commit big money to anyone long term so that restricts roster-building too. Once again Raps would have to rely on mostly internal improvement and Nick Nurse if they dont wanna take a step back.

Return to Toronto Raptors
