IF He and Banton both make the Rising stars game, do you think they'd call each other for a 1 on 1?

Barnes will be better with Pascal.
- OG and Siakam will be getting the other team's best defenders, he'll have weaker defenders on him
- He'll look better on defense with another elite defender and less of Precious
- Siakam made a significant jump in playmaking last season, it's just that scrubs like Baynes overshadowed it. Barnes is very good at finding soft spots on the court and he'll find him
- Siakam can go back to leaking out on fast breaks to let Barnes rebound, our transition points/possession should take a huge leap
- Barnes will still play 30+. He'll soak up minutes from the 2 spot and Siakam will play 5 minutes. And lots of minutes when 2 of OG/Siakam/Barnes are on the court. It'll be Precious/Boucher/Svi losing minutes.

There is zero downside to Siakam's return.

Once PS returns, doesn't that mean Barnes goes to the bench?

Not necessarily but it will depend on matchups.
Seeing Barnes on Bamba tonight makes the reality of Barnes guarding 5s feasible. However, Bamba ain't no Jokic or Gobert.

I expect the typical lineup would be something like FVV, GT, OG, PS, SB with small ball matchups.

Against the Jokics of the league, I expect GT to swap out for Birch/Precious.

These are great points and i fully agree.

I cant wait to watch

Fred
Banton
Barnes
Siakam
OG

I think our defense will be unbelievable.

Him, Trent or Precious. Doesn't matter really though because his minutes will be high anyway. The only thing I'm worried about is touches but we'll see. Maybe they can play well together especially on fast breaks.

Scottie Barnes doing things that amazes me each game at this point. Tonight, what I loved:

- He won an important jump ball against 7'3" Mo Bamba late in the game; wingspan does matter!
- Naturally the coast-to-coast dunk that took him only 3 dribbles while picking up his dribble from outside the arc

precious going to the bench...

banton/svi/precious/boucher/birch...

lmao would like to see that lineup...

other than svi at least one of those other guys needs to get working on their 3s... boucher is decent... but yeah get in the gym folks.

we'll need a fully engaged Pascal on the defensive end which i'm optimistic will happen. can't have him floating around and being checked out like in the previous year. a zoned in pascal with the gang on the defensive end, gonna be so good.

you see what trent said? "i don't want to be the weak link out there". this team is making everyone feel responsible when it comes to defense.

Some experts over here were talking about Barnes having a poor finishing ability and lack of athleticism/explosion. Experts.

when it comes to scoring - i see so much kawhi in barnes. the way he operates in the midrange looks so much like kawhi. once he starts using his strength to bully people at the elbow, it's over.

the league hates MR jumpers but it's those MR shots that make or break playoff series. you need to hit those to go deep in the playoffs - i think barnes can get to that elite level there. it's unblockable and he can get his shot off w/o any issues b/c if the defense steps up, he will go by and burn them on a layup or pass.

kawhi was only here for a year and it was pins and needles for me...but this is the first time i truly believe we got a guy that can get us to where we want to go.

hi,can't say this in our forum :D ,but my gosh you stealed a generational player in barnes.

the guy is clearly the #1 player of the last draft, only mobley is a debatable name about that.

the things he does with that body are unreal, exactly what you need in 2021 from a player you just drafted.

indeed his outside shot gonna be decisive for his ceiling, but he already could have fantastic nights from midrange just after 5-6 game in his nba career; simmons comparisions are wrong in that sense,he is already much better.

the lesson is always the same(also for me,that i would bet on suggs before the draft and was deadly wrong):
don't bet against masai ujiri,never ever:lol:

I think he's not this good of a midrange shooter and will slow down on offense, but it's fine. Nothing wrong with a 13ppg season.

Tell me you're a moron without telling me you're a moron.

How you gonna establish habit for a rookie 4 games in?

Dudes exceeding everyone's expectations and you wanna talk about disappearing. You know he doesn't get a choice when the offense doesn't run through him right? He's thriving while cleaning up on the boards, transitions, defense while getting a shot in the halfcourt once in a random while.

Thanks. Looks like also some very good players also in this draft.... we have not seen Cade as yet, but so far looking like Mobley and Barnes are close top two....

The midrange is now the domain of the very elite, guys like Kawhi, KD. Teams will give that shot up to limit 3s and shots close to the basket, so if he's hitting a high % from there, he's going to pile up a bunch points. It's also a good shot for him because he has such a high release point nobody is blocking it.
